I'm not exactly sure. Now are you talking about a wack or a whack? Maybe a wack is like a peck (1/2 a bushel) and a whack is the metric version of the bushel.

Right I hadn't differentiated between the different w(h)acks. I grew up using the wack system. So that would be my reference.
