Perhaps you want me to die of unrelieved boredom while you keep on talking.
Who?
And if so, come back let us know what is on the other side,k?

All of you. All this harping about do we exist? How do we know we exist? Are we suffering from delusion, illusion, or are we just stoned? Really????? Truly, if we have not yet established that we in fact exist, then the devil has a chain of dung around our necks and is just waiting to chuck us into the abyss.Who?

You are entitled to your illusions and delusions. Whatever gets you through the night. All of you. All this harping about do we exist? How do we know we exist? Coffee exists in our collective reality, yes. Is it real? That is what is up for debate. Most people use coffee as a stimulant. I haven't met to many who use it as a sleep aid though. Perhaps you are a contrary. Native Americans used to revere contraries.Hello Cliffy,
I find that a cup of coffee before slumber helps provide a fine night's sleep. But, does the coffee exist?
Cliffy, If I had to contemplate the existence of my coffee, it would ruin the delight of the brew. Yes, the stuff knocks me out.Coffee exists in our collective reality, yes. Is it real? Enjoy your brew. We are not dwelling on every single aspect of reality, but just on the general principle of existence. I find that pondering on a quantum level gives incredible freedom of choice, thought and action. Because, on that level we can create our own reality within the confines of the greater co-created reality. But it does take some reprogram to be totally free of the greater of social conditioning. That is why I also studied shamanism. The shaman can see the social programming and step outside of "normal reality" and manipulate the program from within, much like Neo in the Matrix movie.Cliffy, If I had to contemplate the existence of my coffee, it would ruin the delight of the brew. Once one has stepped outside the program, they are capable of doing things that would seem miraculous to those stuck in the program.
As long as the happy believers don't try to insist I have to agree with them, or try to get their beliefs turned into public policy. Then the excrement hits the ventilator.
It is what Jesus was trying to show us and what he meant by saying we would be able to accomplish so much more that he did when we become fully actualized, fully capable of seeing the program for what it is and rewrite it to our liking.
for sure, but then people who constantly preach to others that they should be 'like them', and that the
way 'we' are is wrong, aren't genuinely happy anyway, they just think they are.
I'm writing a book about it. But breaking it down to simplistic terms, there has been several methods used: 1: near death experience, either accidental or induced, 2: sensory deprivation (many ways) 3: Psychotropic plants. How does one step outside the program? or maybe I should ask how does one work towards stepping outside the program?
Pardon? You just finished posting that the story of Jesus was a metaphor, and yet, you speak of him here as if he was an actual person. Make up your mind Cliffy.
Jesus may or may not have been a real person. Certainly the teachings attributed to him are worthy of learning. The Christ story, though, is (to me) a metaphor. And metaphors are also worthy of note.

As to their happiness level, how would you judge that? What do you compare it to. What scale is used aside from your own happiness to judge by?
Something that Atheists, not all but a Godly number have in common with Religious Fundamentalists. Intolerance.
I believe I mentioned this problem in an earlier post.
I do not see a slew of Religious Fundies on this Board trying to convert anyone.
I ask if that is the case to offer proof. Though I expect no proof to be provided as it does not occur.
I do not see in public areas, slews or or even small numbers of some religious sect trying to convert the masses or individuals in a persistent, won't leave you alone manner.
Nor do they appear in droves at my home consistently trying to convert me.
Those excuses are past their sell by date. They no longer have any merit in Canada.
I do see the intolerance of some Atheists is far more common than anyone pushing religious beliefs down a persons throat.
I see some Atheists wait for certain topics and jump in feet first and just wanting to stir up crap.
Reason why this Thread was created.
But the number isn't zero either. How many would it take to count as a slew?I do not see a slew of Religious Fundies on this Board trying to convert anyone..
