I agree he is gulity of hypocrisy but he is alos human.

The liberals are guilty of hypocrisy because they say that their lives are private when things like this happen but when a conservative is guilty of human nature they gloat and suddenly the conservatives live is public. The liberals make every effort to drag them through the mud. Hypocrisy.

Same with Global Warming, off topic it may be but liberals preach saving the environment while abusing it to no end. Gore, the Kennedy Clan...hypocrits. Just an example since you consistently point out that liberals and democrats aren't hypocrits.

Hey, Eaglesmack - you have a hardsell on your hands if you think you'll get anywhere with S.J. In Canada, we have anywhere from 5 million to 15 million Conservatives depending on the Political mood. We may have 5 thousand of them who don't mind their own business. Speaking for myself I vote Conservative very occasionally, but i don't go telling people how to run their lives.
More importantly I learned years ago that "labelling" people can be very dangerous.

Sure their lives are private, EagleSmack. If a man commits adultery, that is between him and his wife, nobody’s business. Unless of course, he has spent his life telling others in a sanctimonious, self-righteous manner not to commit adultery, unless he tried to remove other politicians (like Clinton) for committing adultery. Then it is everybody’s busyness.

In public life, hypocrisy is a bigger crime than adultery.

Sorry EagleSmack, but liberals don’t preach to the people. Like don’t commit adultery, don’t be a homosexual, don’t have an abortion, abstain from sex before marriage etc. Conservatives routinely do, that is the specialty of conservatives.

If you think liberals don't preach to people and tell them how to live, then you're blind, deaf, and stupid.

For the record, I don't think you're stupid.

Hey Tenpenny I'll let you in on political secret- at one time there was a definition of a liberal and a definition of a conservative and they had to do with political philosophy. Now days the lines are not quite as vivid, BUT that doesn't prevent S.J. from forming his own definitions which roughly translate as Liberal =Prince, Sage, benefactor whereas Conservative= Asshole

Laughing here. So the Democrats have a "qualifier" to the "one's private life should be private" stand that they are so very hypocritical about. How convenient!

In public life, hypocrisy is a bigger crime than adultery.

The Democrats should know!

Judging by human behaviour when it comes to sexual activity, I would have to say the monogamy is unnatural to the species, particularly the male part. Conservatives know that for the most part their support comes from religious conservatives so they spout all that dogma to win votes. It should be obvious that they don't believe the stuff they spout to win votes - they are politicians after all. Can any of them be trusted?

I think, the reality is that monogamy creates hypocrisy. Like lions, a man's instinct is to spread his seed far and wide. A woman's instinct is to keep him around until her brood is independent, even if it means tricking or cajoling him. But the truth be told, women are just as apt to want multiple partners as men. It is just social pressure that keeps most people "in line". If we didn't have these silly, anti-human restrictions, I'll bet it would be a free for all.

Some women I know would just as soon their husbands had a mistress so he would leave them alone. If it wasn't for emotional insecurity, I think adultery would be no biggy. Just look at Europe. If a guy doesn't have a mistress he is considered incapable of multi-tasking. It is normal so I guess they, for the most part, are more mature than North Americans.

I think it is fairly safe to say ..good lookin people are more likely to cheat.More opportunities...I was a musician for years ..I knew a lot of party girls who liked the idea of benefits..Using their looks to Get what they could outta 1 guy than moving on to the next..Some called them groupies in the music world..As they got older they either found that 1 rich guy ..sometimes rich old guy ,and settled ..or ..well they went the other way....

.As women are more likely to cheat in their good lookin younger years.(I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm off) .Men are more likely to cheat as they get older.especially if they are in a position of power(women like powerful men)..Women after child birth tend to settle(nest/nuture) ,most become self conscious of their bodies..and are less likely to cheat...Men age better than women so they say...Good lookin women have a harder time through those later years .Dealin with the effects of gravity,.Can be hard to live with...:)...but that's gettin off topic now..I ain't Dr. phil..(wildlife /ecology is my area of study) Point?..If I have one

We're all animals tryin to be humans...Politician or not ..There is no line drawn in the sand when it comes to our animal urges..Is/was natural

Or as Noam Chomskey once said ..

"we are all animals trying to become angels.."

I like animals -humans-angels...I don't think any human today could/would consider themself an angel...Some could still be considered as animals...

Some would simply say...Spring fever

Humans are angels trying to figure out what went wrong, trying to remember who they are. Your post here was perfectly placed.

You forgot one catagory, there are many of us, both sexes, who are like eagles or other types of birds and animals, who 'want' and 'treasure' fidelity and a
completely trusting life together, for the whole trip, and it is nice when we
find each other, but sad when one type is with the other.

This is true. All the ones I thought would be my life mate turned out to the other kind. :-(

With an over 50% divorce rate (and that doesn't count for broken common law relationships) I have to say it doesn't work for the majority.

That one is only one of, what? four or six (I can't remember.)

It would seem that the richer you are the more hypocritical you can be.

I agree with you Cliff. BOTH sides can and ARE hypocrits at times. Hypocrisy is not a Conservative phenomena.

I think that far too many people are selfish, both before and during marriage. Too many people put themselves first, and don't put the family first. My feeling is, if you decide to become a family, the good of the family should come before your personal wants.

It's got nothing to do with politics or religion, it has to do with selfishness.
Doesn't matter if you're talking about JFK, or Bill Clinton, or those two recent governors. Their problems were selfishness.
