I make no moral judgment over anyone since those over whom I might make that statement are adults, perfectly capable of defending themselves.

Are you serious, Yukon? You are constantly making moral judgments about democrats, such as Obama, Pelosi, Biden etc. Religious conservatism is almost synonymous to making moral judgments.

The only exception I make is the case of abortion.

Oh, so you already break your own rule.

To you and those like you that blob the abortion butcher discards may be just a bit of dead flesh, to me that is a potential human being who can not speak for himself/herself. I will be proud to stand up on their behalf, anytime.

That is your opinion based upon your religious beliefs. You have no right to impose your morals upon others.

Now if you can just get S.J. to believe that!:lol: Anyway, Cliff, no true words were every spoken.

It may surprise you JLM, but I am already in agreement with Cliffy. I have always said, my loyalty is to liberal principles, not to Liberal politicians.

Anyway, this thread is about one politician in particular, who was caught with his pants down (literally and figuratively).

Cryptic sentence, but without elaboration, meaningless. What were they about then?

I've already said what they were about. Just because you can't be bothered to read the entire thread does not mean I am being cryptic. You can check out post #14. Apology accepted BTW.

Of course you don't. I don't expect you to see hypocricy in ANY Democrat that says he is for the needy yet does his best to steal and line his pockets for his own greed. I don't expect YOU to see the hypocricy in that.

You adore American Democrats. YOU a Canadian have an absolute love affair for American Dems and Liberals.

That is because you haven’t showed any example of Democratic hypocrisy yet, EagelSmack. I am not saying that it doesn’t exist (though it is much rarer than conservative hypocrisy). But you haven’t showed any example yet.

As to adoring American democrats, I do nothing of the sort, they are too conservative for my tastes. I disagree with the Democrats on many issues (gay rights, abortion, death penalty, universal health care etc.). However, they are a vast improvement over the Republicans, the main faction of which wants to bring religious Theocracy to USA.

It hasn't passed but they are sure trying to get it up there except that there are some Democrats that see this as a violation of Free Speech. Pelosi has always said she wants the Fairness Doctrine.

Really EagleSmack? Has a bill been introduced in the Congress? I don’t think so. Until a bill is introduced, you and the far right are simply whistling in the wind. As I said, it is a great tool for fund raising.

You're right it doesn't because it is against the Constitution but the Dems are sure trying.

And how are they trying, except in your imagination, and that of the far right websites (such as WorldNetDaily)? This is a favorite bogeyman of the extreme right, brought up to raise money.

When you say silly things like this you join the Quandry and Logic 7s of the world.

What does one have to do with the other?

Plenty, EagleSmack. The extreme right is pushing the issue of Obama’s birth certificate big time, that helps them to raise money. I think Joseph Farah, the owner of WorldNetDaily has already raised nearly 100,000 $ based upon this issue (that should keep him in Champaign and caviar for a few months). The issue of Fairness Doctrine is similar, it is meant to scare the pants off the far right and to raise money.

Now, I don’t know if you subscribe to the belief that Obama is an illegal alien (we have never discussed the topic), but it is clear that you have bought into the extreme right propaganda about the Fairness Doctrine.

There is no bill before the Congress, nobody is even talking of introducing one, and it is already 1984 in USA, where saying anything against Obama will put you in prison for life?

You really should stop listening to the extreme right propaganda; it is not good for your health. If you start believing in conspiracy theories like Fairness Doctrine, you will only aggravate yourself (for no reason) and fall victim to (unwarranted) stress.

Oh yeah? Have you seen the Democrat Congress approval ratings?

And what has that got to do with the hypocrisy displayed by Ensign and other Republicans? If the ratings of Democratic Congress are low, have a Champaign party. That means that your party will win majorities in the House and the senate come next election. So what are you complaining about?

Here we are discussing the hypocrisy which seems to be an integral part of the Republican Party, not the approval rating of Congress. Anyway, if it comes to that, the approval rating of the Republican Party is comparable to that of Congress (28% the last I saw).

Here is a simple definition of hypocrisy for YJ. Catholic priests take a vow of celibacy and claim that homosexuality is a sin, so instead of chasing women or other men they butf##k little boys who can't defend them selves which apparently is not a sin but is illegal.

I gave examples... you just love American Democrats... you adore them. They do no worong in your eyes.

Yes you say that yet you grovel before them.

So you disagree with Democrats on those issues?

That makes you anti-gay, pro-life, pro-capital punishment, and against universal health care.

Wrong, that makes YOU anti-gay rights, pro-life, pro death penalty anti-black, against universal health care etc. You are to the right of Democrats (actually to the right of a great majority of Americans, if the opinion polls are to be believed).

It makes me more pro gay rights, pro choice, anti death penalty and pro universal health care, since I am to the left of Democrats.

You disagree with the Democrats on many issues...and you listed them...

That makes YOU anti-Gay...pro-life...pro-capital punishment...anti-universal health care.

And in addition your racist comments about Michelle Obama makes you anti-Black.

Nope...fact

Gay rights... I am all for them. None of my business at all

Abortion... On fence...just a sad, sad issue.

Capital Punishment... I am against it.

Universal Health Care... Against

Racial Equality...All for it. Unlike you...judging our First Lady by her skin. What a bigot you are,

It makes me more pro gay rights, pro choice, anti death penalty and pro universal health care, since I am to the left of Democrats.

You contradict yourself over and over and over and over.

Again, that is only your opinion, EagleSmack. Now no doubt in your mind, there is no difference between your opinion and facts, but I see things differently.

Now, that is a matter of opinion, isn’t it?[/quote

Nope...fact

I understand. Your opinion is tantamount to facts (at least in your mind).

Boy did I get you there!

In your mind, perhaps, EagleSmack. In point of fact, you haven’t got me even once.

Gay rights... I am all for them. None of my business at all

Really? Do you support gay marriage? My guess is, not. Did you approve of your state (Massachusetts) being the first to legalize gay marriage, are you proud of it (I am proud of the fact that Canada was one of the first countries in the world to legalize gay marriage). My guess is, not.

Abortion... On fence...just a sad, sad issue.

That means you are prolife. Do you support a woman’s right to choose an abortion, no questions asked? My guess is not. I do.

Do you support government paying for abortions? My guess is not, I do. Anybody can make blithe remarks that he is pro this, anti that. But let us look at your position in detail. My guess is that it is no different from that of Republican base.

Capital Punishment... I am against it.

Are you against it in all the circumstances? How about a serial murderer? How about a serial rapist and murderer? How about a serial pedophile, child rapist and child murderer (where there is no doubt of his guilt)? Are you against capital punishment in every instance, no exceptions?

If you are, this is one of the very few areas where we agree. But my guess is that you are not opposed to death penalty in all circumstances. Many people, who claim to be against death penalty, start making exceptions to it (like serial murderer, child murderer etc.)

So if you are totally absolutely against death penalty, then this is one rare area of agreement between us. But I seriously doubt it.

Universal Health Care... Against

That makes much more sense, I am for it.

Racial Equality...All for it.

Really? Then why do most blacks vote against your party (the Republican)? Do you support affirmative action? I do (it is written in the Canadian constitution).

You contradict yourself over and over and over and over.

I never contract myself, give me even one example.

That would make you wrong then!

Wrong again.

My only issue was how it went about. But I am fine with them being married.

Abortion... On fence...just a sad, sad issue.
That means you are prolife. Do you support a woman’s right to choose an abortion, no questions asked? My guess is not. I do.

Nope...not so cut and dry. I am too smart to fall for that.

Do you support government paying for abortions? My guess is not, I do. Anybody can make blithe remarks that he is pro this, anti that. But let us look at your position in detail. My guess is that it is no different from that of Republican base.

I don't believe in my government paying for a lot of things.

You guessed wrong...AGAIN!

So if you are totally absolutely against death penalty, then this is one rare area of agreement between us. But I seriously doubt it.

That is why you are wrong...AGAIN.

Gosh this is fun!

Racial Equality...All for it.
Really? Then why do most blacks vote against your party (the Republican)? Do you support affirmative action? I do (it is written in the Canadian constitution).

Nope...because that is discrimination. That is saying that by the color of your skin you can or can't have a job regardless of qualifications.

Against ALL the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Affirmative Action was made by rich and wealthy liberals to make up for their wrong doings. It pits poor and middles class African-Americans against poor and middle class white people. Wealthy libs don't have to deal with affirmative action.

You contradict yourself over and over and over and over.

That's funny right there. Coming from someone who insists he always means exactly what he writes.

That reminds me of a very capable and dedicated fellow I worked with years ago, who had one annoying habit- saying he never made mistakes, which I let pass for quite awhile, until one day I'd had enough and said "well I make lots of them but I try to set up a system where I find them before anyone else does."- I never heard him make that statement again. Nothing like having your mouth wide open and two feet handy.

My only issue was how it went about. But I am fine with them being married.

That is good, that means we don’t completely agree (I would hate to be in complete agreement with you on any issue). Not only I support gay marriage but I have no problem the way it was done in Massachusetts (the same way it was done in Canada, in fact, Massachusetts Supreme court cited the rulings from Ontario and BC Appeal Courts when they made their ruling).

Nope...not so cut and dry. I am too smart to fall for that.

Indeed, so you don’t really support abortion in all circumstances, only the select few that you think are right. I thought so.

I don't believe in my government paying for a lot of things.

So we disagree again, finally all is right with the world.

Yes... all circumstances

Really? I find that hard to believe. But if so, then this is one area (and I assume the only area) where we are in complete agreement.

Nope...because that is discrimination. That is saying that by the color of your skin you can or can't have a job regardless of qualifications.

We could argue about affirmative action, but that is a separate topic. Suffice to say, I am glad we disagree.

Affirmative Action was made by rich and wealthy liberals to make up for their wrong doings. It pits poor and middles class African-Americans against poor and middle class white people. Wealthy libs don't have to deal with affirmative action.

That is the official party line of conservative Republicans.
