You are aware of the Malaria drug they were all on?
Original sentence was 90 days.
Pleaded guilty to negligent performance of duty for his role in the death of Shidane Arone, and not guilty to torture.[22] Convicted to 90 days' detention.[22] Deemed to be "willfully blind" to the beating, Boland was also demoted to private.[31] Conviction increased to 1 year of imprisonment after prosecution appealed sentence, with dismissal from the Canadian Forces.[22]

Ha.... sounds like that Tiger unit. Imagine what they could have accomplished if they didn't have a death in custody.

No excuses...... plus this little bit

"I knew Kyle Brown personally and he was an extremely dedicated and hard working soldier but there was a lot that I didn't like in the book. Kyle had an alcohol problem as do many soldiers and was drinking and possibly exhausted beyond belief as we're many other members at that time. I felt that he was given a reasonable sentence for what happened simply because he didn't stand up for the beating of the Somalian teenager. Kyle told me that his initiation to the CAR was that he had to shove a burning plug of toilet paper up his own *** and wasn't allowed to pull it out until he drank ten shots of booze. I almost can't even believe someone would force another to do that or that my level headed former friend could help kick a child to death. In my teen years I was a cadet and at 18 I was turned down from the forces for medical reasons and though there was a time I would have loved to be an Airborne soldier, I now look back and wonder how these people could become so dehumanized. The book needed to be written, but it glossed over a lot of stuff. I feel bad that Kyle went to prison and some of the things he went through must have been incredibly traumatic in his childhood, but he made the decision to wear the uniform and for whatever reason he didn't live up to what it stood for."

No excuses......

Read up on the drug before you state I am making excuses, facts are important. Why those on the Navy side stopped taking the drug. What the mandatory medical protocols called for.
How many tourists, Canadian committed suicide from taking the same drug.
Do some research and then post what you find.

I already know about the drug and why it was pulled. I still won't accept it as an excuse for what happened in Somalia or the fact that the one soldier took the cowards way out rather than face the "limited" consequences of what he was involved in.

Not an excuse, but a factor.

Don't forget our treason at Saratoga, Yorktown, and suchlike.

And our war crimes at Vicksburg, Shiloh, Atlanta, and Gettysburg.

Um. . . point of order. Self-righteous Canadians, are war crimes committed by the Confederacy laid at the door of America, or only war crimes by the Union?

What Confederacy? What Union? They were all Yanks before, during and after the years 1861-1865, and still are. We don't care how you try to dodge responsibility by saying they were different. They're not different. Same nation, same mentality.

Tortured?! They tortured and killed them you retard. Then a number of them were acquitted.

I remember convictions of at least two. Obviously the people who were acquitted were not guilty. That's how it is supposed to work in a free and democratic society.

What is there to discuss? You make up half the material you post so why should I bother?

Made up? I didn't mention that they killed their victims because everybody knows that. Nor did I list every nuance of the offences - do you want to read them again? Good heavens you're childish. One can only presume your adolescent development is frozen in time to when you were in the Marines.

As if I read all of your nonsense. Now you look even more like an idiot.

The name calling is meaningless coming from you. Look at you? Do you think many Canadians are impressed by your US Marines icon? You might as well brag about being in the German SS.

Did the US military teach you to name call? I've written on a number of US sites and name calling seems to be a real Tea Party trait. Two places we see a lot of Yank courage are in a squad full of armed men surrounded by Third World women and children, and in an Internet pissing contest.

1 man went to Jail- He was Native - I met him a number of years back- We talked for quite some time. Bring yourself up to speed on Somalia.

My point was sufficiently made without re-writing the Somalia story. Those who demand more details are not arguing the issue. They are trying to deflect the issue. The fact that they ignored the essential facts is conclusive of their inability to do so.

Ha.... sounds like that Tiger unit. Imagine what they could have accomplished if they didn't have a death in custody.

"That" Tiger Force? I am beginning to suspect ES is too young to remember. Tiger Force is US military history. They were far worse than the infantry component of the Waffen SS.

Look on the bright side. Thirteen war criminals got what was coming yesterday at the Navy Yard.

Wow. What a sad troll. What a horrible thing to write, especially in public.
They were Navy surface warfare systems specialists. These were the people intimately involved in creating, managing, and employing all those American weapons you hate so much. Besides, they're Americans. You've made your hatred and contempt for Americans abundantly clear. So what's the problem?

My feelings are directed against American ideology and actions, not directed against the lives of people. You're a real piece of work. Those who warned me about you are right.

I don't hate America, I just dislike the general arrogance it projects. As for the people, well, I despise the leadership and the war-mongering morons who make the decisions for illegal invasions of 3rd world nations to exploit the natural resources and keep the war machine going for profits. The actual citizens get my sympathy for being misled and lied to and stupid enough to believe anything their leaders might say. I even feel sorry for Eagle and his military bretheren. They signed up to protect their nation and through lies and deceit (and the standard lobotomy for marines) were forced to go overseas and kill innocent people for their masters to profit.

Have the stones? Er, well, sure, but that's not exactly how I'd have put it.
