NCDC data shows that the contiguous USA has not warmed in the past decade, summers are cooler, winters are getting colder | Watts Up With That?

Really? Well, it makes sense. I mean since we all know that the US controls everything on the planet, global climate must be one of those things, right?

Here's another statistic, 322 of the last 322 months have all been above the long term 20th century average. You have to go back to 1985 to find a monthly temperature below the long term average. So for you gamblers, who swallow whatever Watts or Curry shovels in front of you, the probability that this would occur if there is no trend is < 0.0000000000001...winning the Lotto max is more likely. For the last decade, the probability that 120 months out of 120 months would be above the long-term average if there is no trend, is also < 0.0000000000001.

January 19, 2012 : Coldest Day Globally In At Least 10 Years

Jan 22 12:53

Global temperatures are plummeting, and the temperature recorded by AMSU satellite of 251.858K on January 19 was the coldest of any day since at least 2002.

Looks like someone else wasn't paying attention to Einstein's warning about his theory:
"Well, to put it bluntly, there is no such thing as a mass-energy relation. What does exist is a mass-energy-momentum relation. The equation Einstein came up with more than a century ago can be considered a degenerate form of the mass-energy-momentum relation for vanishing momentum. Einstein was very well aware of this, and in later papers repetitively stressed that his mass-energy equation is strictly limited to observers co-moving with the object under study. However, very, very few people seem to have paid attention to Einstein's warnings, nor to any of the more recent warnings. Even worse, the vast majority of authors of popular science books take great liberty in applying E=mc2 to objects moving at speeds close to the speed of light, and then declare mass to increase with velocity in an attempt to recover consistency in what has become an incoherent mix of relativistic and Newtonian dynamics. Theoretical physicist Lev Okun refers to this practice as a “pedagogical virus”." http://www.science20.com/hammock_physicist/whats_wrong_emc2

I think most peopole would say that global warming is happening, but taxpayers are becoming increasingly skeptical of seeming "make work" projects and the accompanying higher taxes. It's this cynicism which results in a "I don't give a damn" about globular warmings.

Were humans changing the climate then as well?
Hunting and habitat destruction are the primary human contributions to the extinction of megafauna, but habitat destruction on a large enough scale can certainly have effects on climate. I don't know if humans were doing things on a sufficient scale 100,000 years ago, but I have seen cogent arguments that the desertification of what was once the Fertile Crescent was due to human activity, so I wouldn't dismiss it as impossible a priori.

Before a couple hundred years ago, it's still possible. Since then, definitely.

It's been shown for a while now that warming in the last 40-50 has significantly increased, even in periods where solar cycles are at their lowest and when cooling climate factors, like La Nina are at their peak.

It's a shame that the policy needed to help reduce anthropogenic influence in climate is taking so long.
Eh. Shyte happens, as they say. Best just to deal with keeping our acts clean as best we can and as soon as we can.
