I was racking my brain trying to figure out where she could be considered a musician! Omicrons house, is about the best example one could possibly find.

Just sprang to mind. I clicked on the link in the other thread that DaS provided for me, to sample his music, so it seemed like it would fit.

I mean it's not talent, but it is talent-adjacent, and might represent a move in the right direction for him. Maybe?

I hear Beatles influences in a lot of music.
True. I even picked a little Beatles up in Suzy and the Banshees, and not just in her cover of "Dear Prudence".

It's funny some of the stuff you can pick up in songs. I heard a new song the other day that had flavours of Sting and Peter Gabriel. I missed the song title and the groups name.

Yep. Now I am a dyed-in-the-wool, long time Beatles fan and as much as that might bias my opinion, they had an undeniably tremendous and pervasive influence on rock music. The soundtrack of "I Am Sam" is all Beatle covers and what I found the most interesting was that these current artists made these songs their own. Pretty much every one of them if I remember correctly (it's been a while since I've heard the entire soundtrack). That speaks volumes to me about how influential they really were, others could perform their songs as if they'd written them.

I love hearing the influences of past artists in songs by current artists, makes the music all the more enriching.

I don't know, seems like they'd be hitting all the same notes and competing.

Although, I must say, the saw does hold it's notes better. :)

I wonder if that woman get's shot at a lot? I know I get an urge to grab the 12 ga.

I think so, lol.

But there were 4 of them, so numerically the odds are in their favour. :)

Well, Hank did have the Brazos Valley Boys! Not sure how many of them there were, so maybe less than four and the Beatles were lucky!

Forty years ago I thought they were horrible, but from what we've seen since, I agree they WERE good.

Everybody's taste is different but one thing I've noted over the years is that even those who were not fans did acknowledge how pivotal and influential they were. I just also happen to love their music.
