The latest reviews for 3d tvs are not good. Disappointing results and the glasses cost 150 for each pair. Bulky and awkward to wear. A home television can not create the same effects as a big cinema screen. Viewers state pictures do not jump off the screen like in a theater. I see this as a fad that will soon die off. Also the 3d affect tricks the brain into seeing the 3d effect. Ok to watch for a movie but a 8 hour gamer could have serious medical side effects. I think holography will be better technology when they have developed it for tv use. It uses lasers and mirrors to create the affect. No manipulating of the brain involved. Also there is little 3d content available at this time to view.

That is true of almost any new technology. My wife bought one of the first cell phones ever produced, about 20 years ago. It weighed more than a pound (it was quite heavy) and cost 500 $. It had very few features.

When VCRs first came out, they used to cost around 3000 $. These days one could pick one up for less than 100$. I expect the same will happen to 3d TV. Prices will come down, quality of glasses will improve, more and more programming will be done in 3d (as I said in my previous post, watch for pornographers to get into it soon).

Five years from now, people like you may wonder how we ever got along without 3d TV. That is how technology progresses.

I have a 35mm stereo slide camera - it has two lenses, takes two images from the same vantage point as your eyes. The slides are mounted in special mounts, and you look through a special viewer for a nice 3D effect. An uncle gave it to me, he bought it in the 1960s. It's quite neat, although I imagine the mounts are hard to find now. Heck, even Kodachrome film is no longer made.

That's actually true, porn producers are usually the first content producers to hop on new broadcast technologies. Web Streaming Video, DVD, BluRay & 3D won't be far off other.

Quite so. It is not widely publicized by the mainstream press, but porn producers have always been at the cutting edge of technology.
