Changing gears here for a bit. I think screen-time is a bigger issue for kids.
I had one life growing up. Today's youth have two...their real life and their internet persona. And when those two collide, it can be really difficult to navigate.
These cell phones are a huge addiction, but parents just look the other way because they themselves are just as addicted. I've never owned a cell phone or texted a message and I enjoy thoroughly my minimalist lifestyle.
I'd weigh in on the LBGTQ topic in a serious manner, but I'm of two minds about it all and it would take me too long to explain. I see both sides of the coin.

There's a difference between sex education and teaching the biologically correct words for the anatomy and what it does, age appropriate, vs. 'talking about genitals'. Like, holy fuck...

Sure, kids don't know what sex is, and they shouldn't, but kids WILL question about their bodies even at what I'm sure you think is 'too young' ages.
And if a kid at age five knows there's something 'off' about them - asking mom or dad why do they have X instead of a Y - then talking to kids about it isn't wrong.
If a kid 6 or 9 thinks that there is something off about them, taking them to figure it out is okay.
See, here's the thing, If a doctor is pushing a kid at 6 or 9 to "be trans", they're a fucking idiot and need to be disbarred from being a doctor.
If one actually says "Okay, let's figure this out" and gets the kid psych help and the kid shows signs of dysphoria, and continues to do so, THEN the matter can be looked into deeper. This is where blockers come in.
