Mike DeWine said during a press conference in Columbus that his veto of House Bill 68, called the “SAFE Act,” was about “protecting human life.” He cited the testimonials of many families who said gender-affirming treatment saved their child’s life and defended parents’ rights to choose what’s best for their child.

“Were I to sign House Bill 68 or were House Bill 68 to become law, Ohio would be saying that the state, that the government knows better what is medically best for a child than the two people who love that child the most, the parents,” DeWine observed. “These are gut-wrenching decisions that should be made by parents and should be informed by teams of doctors who are advising them.”"

If only other people 'got it' like DeWine did.

Sort of. His stance on abortion is questionable but you could be right.

Or he could read the writing on the wall and be hedging bets over it in the next election and wants to look more 'moderate' than he is.

And push the veto powers the Republican's have at the state level to make a stand which might cost them.

Still shocking as hell and at least he 'talked' a good game when he made the decision.

To the point, Higgs got some doctor, FROM THE US, to talk about gender care, FOR NB YOUTH, who doesn't even treat trans kids, to talk to his MLA's.

That right there shows his absolute lack of regard what so ever for CANADIAN kids.

"Higgs declined an interview request. Instead, a spokesperson confirmed that Higgs invited Dr. James Cantor to make a presentation to government in late November.

In an interview with Radio-Canada, Cantor declined to confirm that he made a presentation to MLAs and the premier, but confirmed that the statistic Higgs was sharing was accurate, and said children were given a prescription after "very minimal assessment."

Bauer said her study shows young people in Canada wait an average of 13.5 months to receive gender-affirming care from the time they start seeking it. She said standard protocol also requires that adolescent patients be assessed for other possible mental health and physical issues before they start treatment.

In 2022, under cross-examination in Alabama, Cantor testified that he had never provided care to a transgender minor under the age of 16, had never diagnosed a child or adolescent with gender dysphoria and had no personal experience monitoring patients' medical transition."

Of course they declined to admit this piece of trash doctor was invited because he knows he'll get backlash.

And deservedly so.

There is no such thing as trans kids.

Either you trust science or you don't.

Research suggests that most human brains take about 25 years to develop, though these rates can vary between men and women, and among individuals. Although the human brain matures in size during adolescence, important developments within the prefrontal cortex and other regions still take place well into one's 20s.Jan 31, 2022

So far, only you have a complete disregard for Canadian kids. The rest of us are trying to protect kids from perverts and assorted mental cases that can't figure out male and female.

In Serryah's defence, I too have no regard for Canadian kids. Of course, I note that you don't seem real worried about protecting them from straight perverts.
