Near as I can tell, when all the lies and BS are done, the positions of the two candidates are. . .
Clinton: Things are going pretty well with the economy, jobs, foreign affairs, and you should vote for me to keep them going well.
Trump: Everything has gone to hell and we're weak, poor, and on the brink of total collapse, and only I can save you!
Or to put it even more briefly:
Clinton: Things are OK.
Trump: Everything sucks.
The huge majority (well over 90%) make their decision based on which of those two statements best reflects their mindset, and then categorically refuse to hear anything against their Chosen Leader or for the other one.
Why on earth do we need a two-year election cycle to decide between "Things are OK" and "Everything sucks?"
