British Man Sends 4th Place Medals To Athletes Who Came Close

"There used to be 84 countries in the Olympic Games, now there are 204. Performance levels have become so much higher that it is so hard now to get a medal. I thought, it's time this increase in the competitiveness and the standards was taken account of."

Canada's Rosie MacLennan wins first gold for the country in trampoline.

Awesome. Congrats to her. I watched some of that, and she was very impressive.

When is this Canada vs. U.S. soccer match going to happen again?

The U.S., never that good at soccer, was only able to get a women's team in the Olympics. No men's soccer team.

US ladies won gold last time.

Maybe the game is tomorrow.

that gold medal was wonderful, I woke early, watched the first qualifying round, then fell asleep again
and missed the rest.

the best events for me is the 'equestrian', looking forward to that, some of it has started but there is
more to come.

Congrats to Ryan Cochrane.. silver in the toughest swimming event around.. to train for anyway. Superb performance and at 23 still with Rio in his future.. as people peak in this event in their mid to late 20s.

Gee, it's great to impugn others, isn't it? That sort of thing was taken to extremes in '36. Makes one feel superior even if one isn't!

I impugn all grotesque distortions of the Olympic spirit.. be it turning them into a racist and political spectacle, like the Nazis of 1936 and the East Germans of the 70s... or the plague of cheating that victimizes all honest athletes today.

I didn't say anything that hasn't been widely rumoured and reported in senior athletic and swimming circles about some of the Chinese results... for years.
