In the 4 swimming finals today, the U.S. has won the gold in 3 of them. The 4th is coming up. Let's make it 4 out of 4.

Don't worry...it looks like the Chinese will beat the Americans.

I'm trying to determine which of Chinese sports is doped up. I'm pretty sure it includes Swimming. A swath of their athletes were caught prior to the Sydney Olympics.. they've gotten on top of the chemistry since then and don't get caught any more.. but the culture hasn't changed.. they are the East Germany of the 21st century.

IN FAIRNESS there are a lot of doped up athletes out there in the 'usual suspect' sports.. but they tend to be products of individual or local program cheating.. in China it is systemic and national.. with dope policing controlled by the government.

A sign i look for is a lack of an even distribution in the G,S,B medal counts. If there's a big spike in Gold over all sports, especially in sports where the country had no coaching and training infrastructure prior to the last 20 years.. that looks suspicious.

I agree with that. There is a race going on between the development of new doping drugs/masking drugs and tests to detect them. The Chinese may be one step ahead of the doping authorities.

I watched the gymnastics, gabby was beautiful, along with all of the others, a beautiful sport.

congrats u.s.

congrats to canada's rowing team for the silver

GO CANADA GO

Congrats to Gabby.. she's a very cool, composed and confident youngster under withering pressure.

And congratulations to Pegg Dominique as well.. the lone Canadian in the All Around who came in 17th.. but nailed all her routines. I mention it because Rod Black of CTVs coverage completely forgot to mention her result in his breathless American style GUSHING over Gabby. It's difficult enough forging an identity for Canadian athletes in the shadow of American hype without moron commentators like Black ignoring their own athletes.

Gee, it's great to impugn others, isn't it? That sort of thing was taken to extremes in '36. Makes one feel superior even if one isn't!

Rod Black is without a doubt the most irritating announcer CTV employs. He was absolutely horrid during our Winter Olympics and is proving to be just as stupid during these. You gotta wonder whose butt he is kissing to keep his job.

Who won the US Nigeria game? Maybe overtime?
Lol, if you have to ask that question you don't watch much basketball. No team can beat the USA team, they're comprised of NBA all-stars and hall of famers. Comparatively, Nigeria is one of the worst teams in the tournament.

Even worse is listening to him on a golf telecast.

What I saw it looked like the Globetrotters vs the Washington Generals.

Thats right and don't YOU forget it.

But they didn't cover the 87 point spread.

i'm sure with you on that note, he is everywhere, isn't there anyone else who can speak into a microphone
because as soon as I see him I usually switch the channel.

I heard that the ioc are thinking that nigeria threw that basketball game, is that a joke or?
no one was laughing when it was said on tv.

the u.s. would have won on their 3 pointers alone.
