WOW! This racist post shortly after you posted this about racist American tweets.

"This is why the USA is one of the most despised countries in the world. Great in their own land, hated in all the others. The twitter feed speaks for itself so I won't bother to say more."

I've never had any problems with Americans either in their own country or in ours? They drive a hell of a lot better than Albertans!

The problem, Eagle, is that the over the top histrionics of Americans when they win something in Sports arouses antipathy. Other peoples are following suit now and the concept of Sportmanship seems to be getting lost. The constant "exceptionalism" that Americans show when they discuss sports, too, does not make friends.

Remember that all sport success is a product of advantage, climatic and economic.

Yes I understand that it is quite OK for you and your countrymen and women to wrap yourselves in the Canadian Flag, say that you're the best country in the world, and hold up the finger saying your #1...

... but the Yanks can't because it just shows arrogance.

Where did the days of congratulating your opponent after any contest go?

Ask your country. I congratulated you all when you won the Gold for hockey. I knew how important it was to my pals here on CanCon.

I agree. If it were not for the whole "I/we are the greatest people on earth" attitude I might actually like some things about the US. Unfortunately most of the time their athletes, businessmen, politicians are much more likely to jeer at those they defeat than shake hands and say good contest. Once they trade in the arrogance & ignorance for modesty & humility their reputation will improve.

See my other comments in this post.

IMO... haters are going to hate no matter what in here and elsewhere. Then you will find me. :)

Isn't irony funny?

I wonder if he even sees the irony.

I din't realize that pointing out how most of your athletes are the descendants of African slaves would be racist. So Sorry if it was interpreted that way.

Ummm...

That's because you aren't very bright.

Would completely negate that.

I din't realize that pointing out how most of your athletes are the descendants of African slaves would be racist.
So you think all blacks on the American tesm are descended from slaves?

A fine example of complete ignorance at best.

A classic example of racism at worst.

You can pick which one suits you better, lol.
So Sorry if it was interpreted that way.
Oh you have so much more to be sorry for, lol.

Canadians usually say "Canada is the Best Nation on Earth" usually qualified by an expression like "to live in"

Americans say "The United States is the GREATEST Country in the World"

There is a difference in nuance, subtlety, language, emphasis.. that is quite profound. The latter is a gauntlet thrown.. a statement of power, ambition and exclusivity.. the former is hand offered.. a statement of community, inclusivity.. even some humility.

The most intelligent thing you have posted in a long time

Like the way you turn 'most' into 'all'. Admitting a fact is not racist, its honest.

A fine example of complete ignorance at best.
Yes, you and your trolling ways are just that. Thanks for admitting it.

A classic example of racism at worst.
Actually I am only racist against Indians from Ontario who do nothing but troll on the internet and try to seem superior to all they encounter. :p

Oh you have so much more to be sorry for, lol.
Sorry I found a forum with a troll like you on it, yep!

That just shows how racist you are. Calling these Americans ... Africans. I could think of things to say all day and wouldn't come up with such a bigoted comment.

I am quite sure that if you walked up to these men and called them Africans they would have a few words (at least) for you. I am also sure that you wouldn't walk up to them and call them Africans because you know it would be racist and are likely to be in a jam.

Why are you speaking for all Canadians again?

You aren't qualified.

And you're embarrassing us.

 you're such a jerk, bear.. there now that's a statement that can be called exclusive.

I did use the word 'usually' and did not claim to be speaking for all Canadians as is your habit.. but i didn't expect you to pick up that subtlety or nuance.

Ahhhh... not quite CS. I've been around here since 2005. That dog won't hunt with me. :)

Should be a good show.. looking forward to it. They did a bang up job with Opening Ceremonies.. the Closing Ceremonies are always a bit of a ZOO.. but it should be fun. :)

Like you pretending you were differentiating between American descendent's of slave and African immigrants or descendent's thereof, lol.

I'm already aware of the fact that you aren't bright. Which of course you have the right to be. But at this point, you're abusing that right, lol.

I'm not trying.

Pointing out your failings, isn't trolling. But your post in the EAO thread is, lol.

The irony is palpable, lol.

 you're such a jerk, bear..
Ya, I know. People who have their double standards fed to them, usually think things like that.

I don't know about that. Most want to be called 'African-Americans'. They place high importance on their African descent and know that their ancestors were slaves to anglo-europeans. If the inherent racism in America was really over and done with they might call themselves Americans but the interjection of the African into it is a clear signal of where they really stand.

I was surprised to see the tribute to the National Health Service in the Opening Ceremonies.. but I'm also glad they have Public health care and that Canada does too.. that way i don't have to live one catastrophic illness away from ruin, bankruptcy and homelessness.. like you do in some unnamed countries in close proximity to us.

But i was also surprised that an integral element in the British identity was left out.. and that is the Maritime tradition (rule Britiania). I think they were worried it was too closely associated with the British Empire.. with all that entails.. of Opium Wars, the Indian Mutiny, the Falklands, the American Revolution, the 7 Years War (for power in Europe), the Slave Trade and colonizations.. it would probably manage to offend just about every other nation on earth.. So i think they said.. well we'll do a tribute to National Health Care instead.. well.. good on them.

Oh yeah, there are soooo many Africans lining up to immigrate to the US. I'm sure they all wait for a spot in Alabama or Mississippi because we all know racisim is dead in America.

Hmmm... just go up to them and call them "Africans" and see what happens. I'd like to see that.

Then don't forget the number of people from the Carribean that live in the U.S.

What about some Americans that call themselves Italian-Americans... Irish-Americans?

Nevertheless they sure wrapped themselves up in the American flag didn't they.

They do.

Racisim is not dead in the US... and you have clearly shown that it is alive and well in Canada!
