You hear so much about China. If Canada had a population base of 1.5 billion to develop and choose athletes the medal count for the rest of the world would be maybe one: a bronze to China in ping pong.
can you just imagine over one billion people in canada!!!!! - ughhh, horrid, i'd rather we never
win any olympic medals at all, just participate and have fun than win as much as china has, and
have to endure over one billion population. the thought of it is painfull.
yes, with the population we have, canada does very well.
what canada 'has' done, not 'hasn't' done is important, the coming and going of athletes from one olympics
to the next will change the number.
for our population we do just fine, and calling it embarrassing is embarrassing, for any of us to sit on our
butts and say we are embarrassed is ridiculous, be proud of the athletes, it is what it is, and the effort is the key, and I see canada improving each

nah it's utter embarrassment. you can be content with failure, i won't be.

I wonder how we'd compare with China on a bowl of white rice a day!

Any way you look at it I'd call Canada's performance an absolute embarrassment in the summer games, but this is typical. Vancouver 2010 was stellar (most golds) but the summer games always seem to be a disappointment for Canada.
Canada is the reigning Olympic champion in men's individual golf.

maybe you think it's success to be ranked below ethiopia, i don't.we'd certainly get rid of the obese we see on the streets each day, lots of trim slim little people. lol
we certainly differ 'big time' in our vision of failure.
