I got the idea that Mulcair was going to get $15 for everyone from Prince Rupert to St. Johns and from Windsor to Grise Fjord.

How are the Aussies any better off than we are? We can still get fish & chips for $12 and a glass of beer for about $4.

where the heck do you get fish n chips for $12.00, I know one can, here at quality foods,(less than $12.00) but it is the
frozen fish, (blah, tasteless), and the lowest grade fries.

the best and freshest fish n chips are at least fifteen dollars for 2 pcs cod and wonderful fries, ok, maybe you are only getting one fish, for 12.00.
I never buy halibut and fries any more, price is out of the question, so I make sure the cod I buy is
high quality, and not strong tasting, which I have had at times in the past.

My brother in law and I occasionally go for lunch at Joey's Seafood here in Vernon and we get two big pieces of Pollock and chips and cold slaw for $10.50. They just jumped the price recently, we were getting it for $8 or $8.50. Excellent restaurant. Tuesday is even cheaper.

Pollock is actually just as tasty as Cod. They bring it in from Alaska.

ok, but that is why it is less expensive, same here at one of the fish and chip outlets, Pollock, all
you can eat, probably about the same price.

The fifteen dollar minimum wage applies to Federal jurisdiction workers it does not
apply to those under Provincial law. The fact is I pay more than that now for anyone
working from time to time on the farm. It is not a nightmare situation if you find the
right people to work. Under that circumstance paying more than minimum wage is
a benefit.

You got to watch that Mulehair, he can be pretty cute! $15 is good for a starting wage for a labour - too much for someone sitting on their A$$ taking phone messages.

people taking phone messages have to pay monthly bills just like the physical worker, there is no
difference in the work in my opinion. each person would probably hate what the other one does, and I'm sure each worker would respect the other, to earn as much as them.

to say that a ditch digger should make more than someone working the phones isn't fair, personally if I
had to make the choice I would dig the ditch, as the phone work would be difficult to do day to day,
can't even move, just shift in one's chair, and keep water close for the tickly throat from talking so
much.

Sorry, going to have to agree to disagree on this one. First what it costs to live has nothing to do with what a job is worth, everyone has different living expenses. The person doing the labour burns more calories that have to be replaced. There is more of a safety issue to the point of being down right dangerous in some instances. I can understand the boredom factor but is it any more boring than the flag person on a road that has very little traffic? With the phone job there is nothing to prevent the person from filling in time reading a books, doing cross word puzzles, writing letters or even doing procedures on a lap top computer. A really resourceful person may be able to even work in a second job, something a person shovelling gravel wouldn't be able to do. Anyway we'll probably never agree so I'll leave it there.
