It's A VERY BIG Number

If I give you $1 billion and you stand on a street corner handing out $1 per second, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, you would still not have handed out
$1 billion after 31 years!

Now read on. This is too true to be funny.

The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency put that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

1. A billion seconds ago, it was 1959.

2. A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.

3. A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

4. A billion days ago, no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

5. A billion Dollars ago was only 13 hours and 12 minutes, at the rate our present government is spending it.

We are charged:

Stamp Duty

Tobacco Tax

Corporate Income Tax

Income Tax

Council Tax

Unemployment Tax

Fishing License Tax

Petrol/Diesel Tax

Inheritance Tax (tax on top of tax)

Alcohol Tax

GST

Property Tax

Purchase Property Tax

Tax on Title Searches

Tax on Building Inspections

Tax on supplements

Taxes on various food items

Taxes on Dining out

Tax on all utilities – Phone, hydro, water, waste disposal

Service charge taxes

Social Security Tax

Vehicle License / Registration Tax

Vehicle Sales Tax

Workers Compensation Tax

And now Carbon Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 60 years ago, and our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt.

We had the largest hard working class in the world. A criminal’s life was uncomfortable. What on earth happened?

I hope this goes around Canada beyond 1 billion times!

We don't pay an inheritance tax in Canada BTW! At least, not yet LOL
No we don’t, but if you die with a million dollars in rrsp’s you effectively made a million dollars that year and the government will take its share , somewhere around 50%.

Not entirely true. Try getting what is left of an RRSP out of an estate without giving the government 30% Even funeral expenses are taxed and most cities have certain requirements for burial, all of which are taxable.

Well my favourite is blending the PST with the GST to make the more efficient streamlined HST . Beauty all exemptions in PST are added into HST and all exemptions in GST are added into HST , now the new improved stream lined super efficient system is taxing everything , except the air we breath . Don’t worry that is now covered by the carbon tax . Don’t worry be happy next year GST and carbon pricing are going up . Property taxes going up .Income tax may remain neutral because this government is committed to Canadian prosperity. All fees and levies going up . Government salaries going up . Government revenues possibly going down . Yikes let’s keep going down the same path maybe our children can figure it out .

But our children are indoctrinated by the same kind of people who let the richest most educated society this world has ever seen piss their inheritance away on some eye in the sky fantasy . Less then forty million of us occupy the second largest country in the world by land mass . We have unsurpassed mineral wealth . Among the worlds most productive forests. Unlimited cheap power . We feed the world with our grain beef and seafood .yet we cannot or refuse to live within our means ,why is that ?
And why is it that anyone who proposes any kind of change is pilloried ? Are we all so comfortable that as long as the other guy goes down first I’m okay ?
