  • hey you - thanks again for the hugs - you're such a sweetie! I'm gonna go celebrate Karie's b-day with her right away, and I'm bringing hugs from everyone here with me - I'll make sure there's a hug with your name on it for her too.
oh wow cool! Thanks shadow, you're a champ! and I must sincerely apologise as I thought you were a woman! It seems you're a bloke! I won't be discussing TTOTM with you then (lol) ya know girlie stuff! I wondered why I was getting extra arrows! Those things are cool! I'' have to remember to add the REP's... Thanks heaps, I love it here ...
shadow, "Tall poppy syndrome" in NZ is seen as a societal phenomenon in which people of genuine merit are criticised or resented because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers. NZ'ers on a whole are quite like that, suffer from TPS, which is kinda sad. I however personally commend anyone who has "made it" on their own two feet. Hope that explains it well :)
I reckon you did give me my first greenie, assuming you mean my first wall to wall posting? and yes, I'm loving it here. Would like to see more forum games though :)
Thank you for the compliments on my dogs, they are indeed beautiful, well loved and cared for to the max! They give me much love and enjoyment and are my bestest buddies! Do you have pets?
No worries shadow about deleting my signature, I did delete it and refresh but it wouldn't delete and I guess I need to enable HTML code somehow?

The signature I'm trying to add is my "Canada countdown clock" and it is wicked awesome! OOp's run out of room quickly here on these messages eh'
Hey shadow, yes I guess you are right to "not" give out too much info on where abouts on forums, you never know who is lurking. Well if you're in the vicinity of where I'm holidaying and I would love to meet up for a coffee and this poutine! and haz too... I understand Canada is a HUGE place. you probably have 4.5million in one city! (lol) New Zealand ENTIRE population is just 4.5 million! Including all those foreigneres *grins*
What a lovely thing to say, thank you shadow. I am enjoying the forum and getting to know the posters and I am very excited about my holiday in Canada and if all goes well, who knows, I would love to live there. I would be an asset to the Canucks *winks* ....

I know foreigners can get a bad rap at times, we do the same here in NZ with an abundance of new arrivals (lol) ... One day there will be more "other" races here than Kiwi's / New Zealanders. NZ is a very multi cultural country, we probably have half of Japan here ! ha! I love the Asian cultures, they are a unique and special people. Kiwis' can learn a lot from them.

My daughter tells me that's why she loves Canada and the Canadians so much, a wonderful breed of people she says with an awesome generally positive outlook on life and not live day to day with tall poppy syndrome (lol) ...

Life is about learning, loving and living and fingers crossed I'll realise it all *smiles*

Where in Canada are you shadow?
If you look at the thread about Aurora masonry, Calgary, you'll see what I mean. It's done!

Eh, I'm not really homesick as I'm pretty happy here. I'll be back in Canada during October sometime. Other travel plans look to be in the works!

I wish you all the best of luck with the job, I know times are really crappy right now.
Thank you hon - there just are no answers to these things... all we can do is work towards acceptance I guess. Thank you for caring, hon.
Well I'm home sick and responding to some complaints about a thread. Apart from that, not too much. How's things in your neck of the woods?
We have to go and return a defective weed eater that we bought on Saturday. Have a great day.
You forget the second part to the quote. "Great mids think alike, and fools seldom differ"
