Harper Conservatives are on track for a majority government. I've outlined the threat to Canada in this string:

http://forums.canadiancontent.net/federal-elections/77082-harper-majority-would-harm-canada.html

Those of you who share my fear of a Conservative majority, should consider joining Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams' campaign to vote for ABC. That is "Anyone But Conservative".

The ABC campaign
Canwest News Service
Thursday, September 11, 2008

Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams trotted out his "Anything but Conservative" mantra to a business audience in St. John's, N.L. While a costumed puffin strutted across the room carrying an 'ABC' sign, Williams called Stephen Harper a "fraud" and told voters: "A majority government for Stephen Harper would be one of the most negative political events in Canadian history."

http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/story.html?id=9c3b6859-5d7c-4b91-bcac-893ed37d2678

I agree with Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams about Harper. He's a dangerous man and a Harper majority will be one of the most negative events in Canada's history.

If you want to join this campaign, then find out who has the best chance of beating the conservatives in your riding and vote for them. You should consider how your riding went in the last election. You can find out here:

http://www.sfu.ca/~aheard/elections/results.html

Just click on your province and then find your riding.

In my case its Mississauga South:

Paul Szabo ** Liberal 23,018 votes by 2,130 votes over
Phil Green Conservative 20,888 votes
Mark de Pelham NDP placed third with 5,607 votes.
Brendan Tarry Green placed fourth with 2,393 votes.

In the past I've either voted NPD or Green federally. But in my riding, its a close contest between the Liberals and the Conservatives. If I vote NDP or Green, I may as well stay home and do nothing as Harper slides into a majority government.

I would like to vote Green or NDP but they haven't a chance. INstead I've decided to vote Liberal for the first time in my life and donate money to the Green Party and the NDP at the national level. Hopefully Liberals in ridings where the NDP or Green Party have a chance will join this campaign and vote "ABC" NDP or Green.

Danny Williams is an idiot, and can't be taken seriously.

Hear Hear!

Not only that, watch the left line upbehind the biggest tyrant in power in Canada!

The guy that disallows the hiring of a new president for Memorial University......because he doesn't like his politics. The guy that won't allow gov't advertising in a St. John's paper.....because he doesn't like the owner.

The guy that is busily instructing Newfoundlanders how to vote.

the guy that expects Newfoundland to be on welfare forever.....no matter how rich it gets on oil!

The guy that is running an intimidation campaign in Newfoundland against Harper.....one bordering on brown shirt tactics.....

Unbelievable!

I'm voting "ABC" in this election.

The problem is that the Liberals, NDP and Green Party are splitting the anti-Harper vote. That will guarentee a Conservative majority.

If you live in a riding where the conservatives don't have a chance, then vote with your conscience. But if you live in a riding where a conservative has a good chance of winning, then vote strategically for whoever stands the best chance at beating that conservative.

If you aren't sure who that is in your riding, I'll look up results in last election for you. By the way I've just donated money to the Liberals, NDP and Greens. I've asked that they direct my donation to any riding where their candidate is in a close battle with a conservative.

Vote ABC

If there is a good protest party, I'm in.
You are missing the point of ABC. Voting for a protest party isn't voting strategically. But I've done it in the past. I've thought about changing my name to ZZ and running for the "None of the Above" party. I bet I would win!

In this election, I'd say the protest party is this one:

PREAMBLE

The Canadian Action Party is, above all, a pro-Canadian party dedicated to the principle that Canada can best serve its citizens and the world by re-claiming and maintaining its political and economic sovereignty as an independent country.
It is opposed to the ascendancy of "corporate rule" and those aspects of unrestricted global investment that promote colonization of the world’s smaller powers and in Canada’s case its absorption by the United States of America.
In this context the Canadian Action Party is committed to the view that human dignity is the underlying principle of a democratic society and that the purpose of political organization is to guarantee equal opportunity in order to give full expression to that dignity.
In accordance with this philosophy, the Canadian Action Party subscribes to the fundamental rights and freedoms of all persons and equality under the law and commits itself to the protection of these essential values and their constant adaptation to the needs of a modern society.
The Canadian Action Party recognizes that human dignity, and a democratic system requires that all citizens have access to full information regarding the policies and leadership of the state; and that such information should not be unreasonably denied.
Citizens should be provided full opportunity to participate in open and public assessment of public policies and their impact as they deem desirable to promote the political, economic, social, cultural and general well-being of Canadians.
To realize this objective, the Canadian Action Party will strive to provide a flexible and democratic structure under which all Canadians can obtain such information, participate in open assessment and make their views known through open communication and political actions both electoral and non-electoral.
The Canadian Action Party recognizes the responsibility of the state to provide certain essential services for its citizens.
To assist in this regard the Canadian Action Party will reform the banking system and use the Bank of Canada creatively in order to provide the fiscal flexibility essential to this end.
The Canadian Action Party Constitution sets forth the systems and procedures by which the Canadian Action Party will work to implement these ideas on behalf of its members and all Canadians.

Our Vision

The Canadian Action Party's key proposal is "the right to work". We believe that anyone who wants to work should be able to find employment at a wage that will allow self-sufficiency.
All political parties promise "jobs, jobs, jobs" without being able to deliver on the promise. What makes CAP different from all other parties is that we would use the Bank of Canada to finance full employment. We would increase spending and cut taxes enough to achieve a growth rate between 4 % and 5 % for four or five years until there are jobs for all.
Our ultimate aim is "full employment." Period! We believe that the right to gainful employment is a fundamental right and we will cooperate with the provinces and municipalities in the development of a form of "guaranteed annual work" to provide meaningful expression for people displaced by technology. The vast majority of unemployed Canadians want to work, be self-sufficient and part of their communities. Individuals will be given the opportunity for self-fulfillment while contributing to a higher quality of life for all.

Interesting, haven't heard of that before, must be very organized, and
obviously is a strategy to change many votes, not just a few, could make
a difference in outcomes.
Seems illegal, but how can anyone stop it.
Nothing surprises me anymore, and I have come to the point, where I
don't really care, it all seems so far out of my control that, why would
I even worry about it, lifes too short.
It's amazing how far, and how hard people will work to win, win, win. at any
cost.

A good Liberal government could get rid of the "so called" law abiding gun owners too.

The Canadian Press

VICTORIA–RCMP were asking for a B.C. hunter to turn himself in yesterday after a puppy belonging to a boy who survived brain cancer was shot on the weekend.
Family members of the 12-year-old boy say he was devastated after a hunter allegedly shot the four-month-old Jack Russell terrier to death for no apparent reason.

Chris Rose said his grandson, Max Rose, has been through many ordeals in his young life, including surgery for brain cancer, but to see him suffering the loss of his puppy, Seymour, was heartbreaking.

"Naturally, the whole family is just absolutely upset. Tears and crying, on the street. It was just awful," the grandfather said.

The shooting took place in remote Quadra Island, 265 kilometres northwest of Victoria.

Yeah, shooting a puppy is outrageous!

Some kid out to kill anything.

Disgusting.

Two things though......First: explain please, how the Liberals stealing my semi-autos and handguns would have stopped this moron from shooting the dog in BC with a shotgun?

Second: I'd like to thank you for revealing the hidden agenda of gun-grabbing Liberals everywhere.......yesterday assault rifles, today handguns, tommorrow your sporting rifle......

Yeah ... like the same kind of split that allowed Multory to get his Free Trade and GST through ... or that got Mike Harris a second term in Ontatio. Why do I mention Mike Harris? Because his agenda is Harper's ... on a national scale.

A rose by any other name....

I love how when something doesn't pan out for the left side they ignore it and continue on..

It all started years back with the conservative hidden agenda. Then the party got in with a minority. Well the agenda could not come out till they go a majority. Well the Liberals basically gave them a majority by backing down from everything..Did the evil hidden agenda come out..Nope!

Our Governemtns can never keep a cap on anything , how the hell would that keep this agenda under wraps for 2 years? Liberals can not even keep their infighting quiet.

Mr. Harper will get in with a majority..and guess what..he will do nothing more or less than he is already doing. Keeping Canada's voice out there in the world, staying on one course. reducing taxes, understanding the separation of public and private and knowing how does what better. OOOHHH I'm so scared of a government that will build this country instead of wrap itself around infighting of party, language and evil Americans...
I say anything for the conservatives!!
