OK you're doing it again. By reading and responding to my posts you knew what I was talking about. Its not a thread all about me, but I added in my two cents in which you responded to.
I see you live in an entirely different environment than I do, so you would not necessarily know what it is like driving on the 401 in Toronto.

I was driving to work the other day on the trans Canada coming in to Vancouver and took the exit to Grand-view Hy way, on the light as we were waiting for green I saw a lady doing make up before the light went green, she was next to me she takes off still applying the last brashes on here eye brows and soon after while driving at 5oklm she was texing for about 5 block distance. If she had caused a serious accident I would would have been the star witness, I would have nail this stupid driver to the cross in front of the Judge. Thank God nothing happened. But we are driving every day with that constant threat that some inconsiderate idiot would ruin the day fro many others.

As for guns in cars don't think that guns travel to peoples houses in disguise and un-escorted, in any given day in the sea of daily traffic cars are transporting fire arms of all makes sizes and lethal performance.

What about the latest and easiest way to hijack some ones car is to bump them a little at a darker street, and while the innocent driver gets out to inspect the damage the idiot tailgating pulls out a gun tells the innocent driver to get in the trunk of the first stolen car, they live the innocent driver in the trunk while escape with a new for the time being unsuspected vehicle. The best way to overcome that dilemma is to tell the goof to follow you to gas station and take care of business there.

They've got to take some of these auto makers to task too. I mean, what's up with having TV set control centres and a million-and-one tiny push buttons for a multi purpuse sound system in the middle of a dashboard when the idea is to be watching what's ahead of you.

Woof!

Wolf, I think the Auto makers must think that the evolution of information will double the reflex of the human mind. Imagine doing 100klm while texing and looking for direction on the GPS. It is becoming very complex to respond affectively on high speeds. The next real automatic car will tell as to buckle up and don't touch the steering, it will do it on its on with out raging down the road like a loose cannon.

Thing is ... for every safety device they build into a car, some after market dealer comes up with something to defeat it and make the darned thing faster - and it's always some idiot who doesn't have a clue how to control it who has the cash to buy it.

Better living by technology, eh?

I saw a woman do a left hand turn through a busy intersection one day without once looking up from texting... I couldn't stop laughing. She DID NOT LOOK UP.

I am 57 and wander what a car will do for drivers 20 years from now. We already know the EX INFINITY has a navigational system that will parallel park with out the driver touching the steering.
20 years from now we could be looking at a car that can fly much like the Delorian in Back in the Future. Who knows.
The problem today on the subject of driving, people must come together and create a movement that would bring about a civilized community of people who treat their vehicles as a means to transport their body.
Not to dispose of their body's, and dispose I mean to die on the way to work or home because of some idiot who had a tantrum on the way to work or home and subsequently kill people as a direct result of stupid rage.

I am usually watching the road, so what the person in front of me or to the right or left, what they have in their car is of no concern to me, and if I am driving properly like one is suppose to be, it would not concern me. My concern when on the highway or any road is watching out for the drivers, not what they have or don't have in their vehicle. Someone this inattentive should be shot. And if I am shot, well not much I can do after I am dead, so the 'what if' is moot and childish.
I also know that they carry guns in the US, that is old news. Don't waste my time with the obvious. And I am okay with guns, they do not bother me, or give me the vapors. Maybe I will blow the guy from arsehole to breakfast before he gets me. Who knows.
So yeah I tailgate when I want to take the first opportunity to pass, or I will when some ass wipe cuts in front of me, or is going way below the speed limit.
My motto is, LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!
Don't worry about me, I like to take chances, and I am an excellent driver. I don't scare easy. But thanks for the concern amigo.

Hmmmmmmmm just came across this post that should be a candidate for a Pulitzer Prize.

(Boy, that's on old post)...

Anyway, would that be the M.D.B.O.T.R. prize? (the Most Dangerous B*tch On The Road) I wonder how she would deal with a moose on the road at midnight whilst doing her high speed, expert driving? She could end up impaled - in the most embarrasing and painful way - on a set of antlers. Might knock some sense into her.

That is too funny. I recall reading in one of her posts just yesterday or the day before, (I cannot remember her current name - Sporty 383 or 838?) these exact words: My motto is, LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!
If nothing else, she is consistant along with persistant!

i hate tail gaters, ill usually drive the wheel with one hand and hold up the bird to the tailgater until they back off

Yep, that infraction is probably as responsible for as many accidents and injuries as any other infraction. It should be cracked down on a lot more vigorously (with heavy fines) than what it is.
