Ah Curio...you try to make it sound like I've been relentlessly hounding all Americans for ten years with undeserved anti-American sentiment. That has obvious;y not been the case. My main complaint against Americans has been their sorrowful record of foreign policy that appears to condone American troops marching into small countries who are no threat to the U.S., and killing millions of innocent civilians because this action apparently has the affect of buoying up their economy. Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia are prime examples. We might as well add Iraq to that list of disastrous little wars.
The current American regime under G.W. Bush is one of the most hated on the planet. I admittedly don't like American foreign policy but I am certainly not alone in that. Most of the planet shares that sentiment.
I won't go into America's woeful ignorance of the rest of the world in general, or their general ignorance of Canada. That's a whole other topic.

Sorry Juan

I have met a few people who relished in their ignorance over my years, but have never met as ignorant a man as you.

When my husband served in Gulf One he returned with stories about all the great people he had a chance to meet(ourside of my family) from Canada ... people he continued to have friendships with long after they returned to home. He was proud to have been a part of the coalition in that very short off shore mission and gave me so much pride in both the nations I love dearly....

.... you would never see that.... nor experience that..... and I feel sorry for your limited outlook.

Only in the division which you thrive upon will nations never heal, never seek to earn cooperation and building together, and become farther and farther immersed in their basic suspicion and hatred....
which in turn is how wars start.

These are the seeds which you plant regularly even here on a simple communication forum where friendships and healing are what I thought could be the focus of future understanding and familiarity. You are creating the opposite. Why I will never know.

Why do some folks interpret "not in total agreement" or different ways of doing things as anti? The world is NOT black-and-white. They with "Fer-us-or-agin-us" know-it-all mentalities can't be taught a thing without a two-by-four to drive the point home.

Woof!

Drop it dude, you have repeatedly demonstrated thinking outside the box is alien to your comprehension.

Naw Juan

You try to silence people who disagree with you all the time. What are you afraid of?

I think my insults are conducted quite within reason - if you see them as stupid - perhaps that is because they are doing their work.

ITN and I have no connection other than challenging your mudslinging - which has become the trademark of your posts on any topic of this nature.

It was introduced as again an old topic - a boring topic - a flaming topic - and as long as these are acceptable to the administration for publication, expect a backlash.

Contrary to all your empty rhetoric, I haven't slung any mud today. I made several statements about Americans warring on smaller countries and killing millions of civilians but you've ignored them. I also mentioned that Bush was probably the most hated leader in the world today. I consider these to be true statements but you've ignored them in favour of insulting me. Do me a favour. Don't talk to me and I won't talk to you.

Maybe we're doing our part to control the surplus population. We're just a natural resources based economy not a military based one.

What Toro has contributed is acutely germane. Why would an American who doesn't even know where Canada is be concerned about anything including the attitude of Canadians toward America?

Don't be too hard on Americans, Mikey. They are woefully ignorant of their own country.

Kind of like Torontonians.

Thanks for the reminder Toro:)

At risk of "highjacking the thread" do you have any sense of the anxiety that seems to be bubbling very near the surface of many people's temperaments? There can be just as much negativity and asignment of "guilt" ladled out to Canadians as any American and yet instead of approaching the sensitivity of these issues with some degree of restraint, we fall pell-mell into bellicose rhetoric and adversarial dialogue...

I have a great deal of respect for most folk here at CC and would enjoy seeing mutuality and respect be the platform from which arguments are launched as opposed to jousting.....particularly over issues that we and perhaps no one will ever bring closure to....

Hope yer well bud! :)

Easy. There are plenty of Sinead O'Connor types who hate the USA but love our money.

This link said nothing except what asbestos is and what it was (in the case of most countries) used for. Whenever we come across asbestos it is removed if possible. Canada mines it and sends it overseas to be used KNOWING darn right well it is going to kill people.

The USA. They are a chemical company and I know about the disaster in India. However that was an accident. A negligent accident but an accident nevertheless. Asbestos mining and production, and product usage is something that is known to cause deaths when used correctly. I saw a documentary of not only people who work for Canadian Asbestos dying of cancer but their children too as the fibers are brought home on their clothes.
