Perhaps it will lead to at least a temporary break in the ongoing ongoing between Iranian sponsored Hezbollah & Israel for a while….Benefitting the citizens of Lebanon that are caught in the middle of this chapter of the goat rodeo?
Or perhaps, using history as a guide, it won't stop anybody there from stomping each others' nuts.

No Greater Israel huh?

Israel to Hold Southern Lebanon, Block Residents' Return, Defense Minister Says

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the military will hold southern Lebanon up to the Litani River and prevent residents from returning, citing security for northern Israel. Katz accused Lebanon of failing to disarm Hezbollah and vowed continued operations against the group...

More of Syria then attempts for Jordan and Saudi Arabia and a clash with Turkey that ends the Zionist fantasy.

Stupid Goyim.

So slightly rewarding the question:

Based on reports following the February 28, 2026, U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, Hezbollah initiated rocket attacks into Israel as a retaliatory measure, widening the conflict. Hezbollah's actions followed the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, prompting immediate, intense Israeli strikes across Lebanon in response to this escalation.

While Israel describes this as a "defensive" measure to ensure security, Hezbollah and various observers regard the move as a long-term occupation and an existential threat to the Lebanese state, say The Guardian and Chatham House, etc…

Hezbollah lobbing Missiles & Rockets into Israel from Lebanon wasn’t an existential threat to the Lebanese state though? Hmmm…

When Israeli say they are going to occupy territories and then do is it defensive or offensive?

Founding (1982): Hezbollah emerged as a Shia militant group in Lebanon specifically in response to Israel's invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon (triggered by PLO attacks from Lebanese territory during the civil war). Iran provided funding, training, and ideology. Its fight was initially local: resisting Israeli presence on Lebanese soil and Western (US/French) intervention.d275dc

So…Hezbollah formed as a result of Israel fighting back against PLO attacks (which I’m assuming meaning firing rockets or missiles into Israel?) already coming from Lebanon? That’s what you’re saying here?

Who funded Hezbollah’s creation (?) and did Hezbollah have an issue with Syria that also occupied parts of Lebanon in the early ‘80’s? If not then why (?), & if so then strangely you seem to have forgotten to mention that for some reason.

Soooo…not mentioning Syria then either way?
What does Syria have to do with

specifically in response to Israel's invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon?

The Golan Heights is a strategic, hilly plateau of roughly 1,200 square kilometers located on the border between Israel and Syria. Captured by Israel from Syria in the 1967 Six-Day War and effectively annexed in 1981, it is considered occupied territory under international law, though the U.S. recognized Israeli sovereignty in 2019.

Key Aspects of the Golan Heights:
Strategic Importance: The plateau offers a commanding view of both northern Israel and southern Syria, making it essential for security and military intelligence.
Water Source: The region provides roughly one-third of Israel's fresh water, with rainfall feeding into the Jordan River and Sea of Galilee.
Control and Population: While formally considered part of Syria by most of the international community, it is controlled by Israel, which maintains over 30 settlements and a population of over 25,000 Jewish Israelis.
Druze Inhabitants: Approximately 20,000 Syrian Druze residents live in the region, holding permanent residency in Israel.
Buffer Zone: A UN-monitored buffer zone (UNDOF) has separated Israeli and Syrian forces since 1974.
