There is a lot of upside yet to come in the field of medicinal cannabis.

Speaking of which I would like to try growing some of my own again this year and would appreciate advice on what seeds to plant. Last years never surfaced and the year before was a write off as well.

If you have to bribe automakers to make EV’s and then bribe consumers to buy them, is it any wonder why were are seeing EV plants shut down and manufacturers pivoting away? What happens when the well-to-do have purchased their EV’s (as a second or third toy) that everyone had to subsidize…& then the subsidies go away? Pretty much what we’re currently seeing.

What is Unifor's role in this shit abyss?
Well, the receiver of gov’t handouts in exchange for their votes? With the gov’t subsidies given away so far for EV’s, it works out to something like $5,000,000 per job…assuming the jobs actually are created.

$5,000,000 per job? How much is going for Unifor pensions managed by Brookfield Asset Mgt? Does Brookfield do insurance too?

On the same day Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed that François-Philippe Champagne was his permanent choice for finance minister, news broke showing precisely why he’s the wrong man for the job.
The greatest threat to the Canadian auto industry, the roughly half-million jobs it supports, the $38-billion in exports it generates annually, and the billions in foreign direct investment it accounts for, is not U.S. President Donald Trump. His threat of automotive tariffs is expected to disappear when Canadian-U.S. trade negotiations conclude.

The existential threat to Canada’s auto industry is our electric-vehicle mandate that mimics California’s.

What is now obvious to legacy U.S. automakers, if not others such as Honda Motor Co., is that the California-driven zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate from 2022, prohibiting the sale of internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEV) by 2035, will bankrupt them.
Champagne was the man who captained former prime minister Justin Trudeau’s electric vehicle (EV) crusade. He teamed up with the government of Ontario to give over $50 billion of taxpayer cash to the EV industry to try to get electric cars and factories built in Canada.
General Motors Co., which has invested heavily in ZEVs, is admitting slow progress and saying aloud that the 2035 ZEV mandate will compromise its business and cost jobs, a fate it is working to avoid through its all-out lobbying to stop it. GM has allies among Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives, which recently and decisively voted 246-164 to support a resolution to revoke the California mandate.

What happens when the well-to-do have purchased their EV’s (as a second or third toy) that everyone had to subsidize…& then the subsidies go away? Pretty much what we’re currently seeing.
The 2035 ZEV mandate is a policy that Justin Trudeau‘s Liberals adopted, and that the party doubled down on under Mark Carney, pledging in its election platform to go further and “work with industry, labour and other stakeholders to develop a regulated sales requirement that at least 50 per cent of all new light duty vehicle sales be zero emissions vehicles in 2030.” This would include most autos Canadians rely on for their daily commutes, such as cars, minivans, SUVs and pickup trucks.
Most major manufacturers have pulled back sharply on EV production since the beginning of the year because the market for electrics just isn’t there. Last week, BMW CEO Oliver Zipse, said that if the EU maintains its EV mandate (which matches Canada’s), it will lead to “massive shrinkage of the (automobile) market.”
Maybe that’s the goal though? Automobiles only for the wealthy? Let them eat cake?
Monday’s closure of the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) program comes just 12 months before the start of a multi-year EV sales mandate where 20% of all new Canadian car sales must be zero-emission, reaching 100% by 2035.
The wealthy have already purchased their toys (with subsidies from all), and here we are?
But maybe that is just what the Liberals want – far fewer people owning far fewer cars.

The Trudeau government’s own internal research shows their EV mandate will likely price a quarter or more of Canadians out of the car and truck market entirely.

There are two ways to get to 100%. Either you continue to sell current levels of new vehicles and subsidize EVs like hell. Or you sell far fewer cars, but they’re all electric.

We're too far behind China. What's will happen is partnerships to manufacture Chinese EV in USA or Canada. It's being explored by Ford.

This says it all.

Ford's CEO, Jim Farley, is openly impressed with and even drives a Chinese-made electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7. He has stated that he "doesn't want to give it up" and believes it is a "fantastic" vehicle. This comes as China is rapidly emerging as a leader in the EV market, and Ford is actively trying to understand and compete with this new landscape.

Ford's CEO's Experience with the Xiaomi SU7:
  • Positive Review:
Farley has publicly praised the SU7, calling it "fantastic" and expressing his desire to keep driving it.

  • Special Import:
He had the car flown in from Shanghai to the United States for personal use.

  • Competitive Research:
Farley's decision to drive the SU7 is part of his overall strategy to better understand the competition in the EV market.

  • "Apple of China":
He has even referred to Xiaomi, the SU7's maker, as "the Apple of China".
Chinese EV Market and Ford's Strategy:
  • China's Dominance:
China is rapidly becoming a leader in the EV industry, and Ford is actively working to understand and adapt to this new competitive landscape.

  • "Existential Threat":
Farley has warned that if automakers don't adapt to the changing EV market, they could risk losing a significant portion of their revenue.

  • Competitor Research:
Farley's personal experience with the SU7 is part of a broader effort to research and understand the technologies and approaches of Chinese EV makers.

Pretty sure that Jim Farley as the CEO of Ford, this EV from China isn’t his only vehicle that he has to rely on… that he has had flown in from another continent, this isn’t about reducing a carbon footprint for him.

Reality is, EV’s other than for toys for the most part, just aren’t big sellers in Canada.

Chinese ones aren't toys and they aren't garbage as we've been lead to believe. They run circles around Teslas at 1/2 the retail price.

The crew of a cargo ship carrying around 3,000 vehicles, including 800 electric vehicles, abandoned it off the coast of Alaska after a fire broke out onboard, its operator Zodiac Maritime said on Wednesday.

The 22 crew members were safely evacuated from the ship after they failed to put out the fire, Zodiac said as it focuses on salvaging the vessel.

They were evacuated via lifeboat and were being transferred to a nearby merchant vessel in tandem with the U.S. Coast Guard.

The vessel, Morning Midas, was located 300 miles (482.8 km) southwest of Adak in Alaska, the Coast Guard said on its X account.

The Liberia-flagged ship left China's Yantai port on May 26 and was on the way to Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, according to LSEG data.
Smoke was initially seen rising from a deck loaded with EVs 😳, the company said. It is not clear what brand of vehicles the ship was carrying.

EV-related fires on ships are challenging to extinguish due to the heat generated and risk of reignition, which could persist for days.
(If the EV industry is gonna be dominated by overseas Industries, ships are gonna have to be redesigned so that they can jettison their loads if they end up with an EV fire… so if it means 25 cars or 125 cars go over the side to get rid of the one car that’s on fire… at least they saved the rest of the load and the ship, etc….)

ARLINGTON, VA — Firefighters were called to the scene after several eyewitnesses claimed to have seen President Trump setting fire to a local Tesla dealership this morning.

The event seems to coincide with a bitter public falling out between Trump and Musk over a spending bill currently moving through Congress.

"I thought we were friends, Elon! What happened to us?" President Trump reportedly cried as he lobbed a Molotov cocktail into the windshield of a 2025 Tesla Model 3. "I never liked Teslas. I always thought they were 3rd-rate cars anyway. And everything in them is computer, and I hate computers. Many people don't know that, but I actually hate them. They're terrible, frankly."

By the time authorities arrived on the scene, the entire facility had been consumed by the flames. Security cameras caught glimpses of an orange-haired suspect fleeing the scene.

Elon was quick to condemn the attack on X, calling for a full investigation and accusing Trump of being a "gay poopy-head retard." Trump replied on his Truth Social account, calling Musk a "3rd-rate rocket scientist who is worse at making rockets than Bezos."

At publishing time, Republicans in Congress had earmarked $327 billion for rebuilding the Tesla dealership.
