NEW YORK — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will appear as a guest on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday.

Trudeau’s official itinerary says the interview will be shot during his trip to New York, where he is meeting with leaders ahead of the 78th gathering of the United Nations General Assembly.

A schedule posted by Paramount, which owns CBS, says RuPaul Charles, the host of RuPaul’s Drag Race, will also be a guest on The Late Show on Monday.

Trudeau made an appearance on the Canadian version of the drag queen competition series last year.

The prime minister will attend the assembly in New York until Wednesday morning, and later that day his government is expected to face its first test in the House of Commons since the NDP ended its supply-and-confidence deal with the Liberals.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs in Canada on Global.

Actually, getting a head of government is quite a coup. Even when you don't like the head of government.
NOBODY likes him. The other world leaders barely tolerate the moron's presence. He gave a speech at the EU Parliament that nobody bothered to show up for, except a handful of leaders who gave him proper shit for undermining democracy in Canada. His most recent speech at the UN was to a pretty much empty room. Trudeau is the antithesis of E.F. Hutton. When Trudeau talks, nobody listens because there's nothing of substance there.

I dunno how popular Colbert is up here but I wouldn't be surprised if Trudeau thinks being on the show can somehow help to shore up his plummeting poll numbers

On Tuesday, the Conservatives will table a non-confidence motion to topple the Trudeau government and force a snap election. The fixed election date is currently set for October 2025. But the Bloc Quebecois and NDP have already said they will vote against the motion. That vote is scheduled for Wednesday.

Kinda makes a body wonder how he became prime minister in a nominal democracy.

I know when I saw it pop up on youtube I cringed.

Apparently he fanboi'd out on Star Wars.

Comments section are full of people who actually think he's a great guy.

Even some Canadians.

He's not on the show to promote anything. He's just there to 'talk'. Anyone who thinks Trudeau showing up on Colbert would affect anything doesn't get Colbert's show.

Because they haven't had to put up with him for 9 years.
Even some Canadians.
The stupid ones or his social media influencers. Same thing really. Yes, he got himself social media influencers.

LOL yeah, sure. Trudeau is ALL about self-promotion with a bit of self-aggrandizing thrown in for good measure.
