Truer words were never spoken! So the CBC & the Toronto Star insist that Elon Musk is not correct in stating that Canada no longer has free speech. This proves he's absolutely correct. This Prof is now facing being fired, even tho' there's nothing wrong with what he said. People to object to his post are ignorant, hateful cry babies.

This is a nudge, nudge, wink situation.

They can pretend this was not a school event, but the kids came out from the front door of the school with their flags and signs. They gathered in front of the school, marched for 20 minutes as staff looked out from the windows or front door, and then returned to class.

“These demonstrations by students, including the one today involving Garthwood Park Public School students, have been and continue to take place off school property. It is important to note that school staff supervision is not available once students leave the school premises,” said the board.

This pro-Palestine demonstration saw student protesters as young as five — and no older than 10 — marching in front of their elementary school protesting Israel’s war against Hamas. It was also unusual because it was a protest by kids in front of Garthwood Park Public School during the school day.

The two dozen kids at the Mississauga school marched with Palestinian flags, keffiyehs and posters, while unsupervised Wednesday, during what the Peel District School Board called “nutrition breaks.”

“Free Palestine,” was one of the chants.

“Ceasefire now” and “Gaza, Gaza, don’t you cry, Palestine will never die” were others.

Was this really generated by the kids, or was this more about their parents? Were these children up on world events, or just indoctrinated kids?

“These demonstrations by students, including the one today involving Garthwood Park Public School students, have been and continue to take place off school property. It is important to note that school staff supervision is not available once students leave the school premises,” said the board.

But during school hours and at the school where other kids, who may be Jewish, might feel intimidated?

“As this was a K-5 elementary school, parental permission was required and provided for each student to leave school property during the day,” explained the school board.

All right. But the door is open now for other protests. The precedent has been set

Could this mean student protests against “Drag Storytime” events? Or mask or vaccine mandates? Against a teacher?

Or how about a group of students protesting the terror group Hamas and their atrocities of Oct. 7?

(Was this really generated by the kids, or was this more about their parents? Were these children up on world events, or just indoctrinated kids?)

Another thing noticeable was none of the adults, who walked behind the kids, wanted to talk about the Oct. 7 slaughter by Hamas of innocent Jewish people, including children. Weird that…

The disclaimer says “This demonstration does not have official endorsement from the school or Peel District School Board,” it said. “By participating in this student-organized walkout, students are expressing their democratic right to engage in peaceful protest.” As children 5yrs old to no more than 10yrs old expressing their informed independent opinions on global events 1/2 a world away? Sounds about right.

1702948911318.jpegWell….to come full circle on this Thread, going back to the Opening Post:
Meanwhile over 20 christian churches were burned and he barely said anything and several people employed by the federal gov't turned out to be overtly antisemitic even before they got hired. But we desperately need an anti islamophobe ministry.

This is just more divide and conquer.
And here we are today. How is special representative appointed by Justin Trudeau to combat Islamophobia addressing the current situation from and since October 7th, 2023 as a Human Rights Activist appointed by our Gov’t?

I googled NEWS & Amira Elghawaby and these are the top hits:
1702949400301.jpeg
Weird that. The four top hits all predate October 7th, 2023. Have to dig further…

It was a horrific and cowardly attack by a terrorist group — not by all Palestinians, Arabs or the wider Muslim community. It should have been condemned and contained immediately. Muslims who pride themselves as followers of a peaceful religion should have empathized and consoled the grieving Jews.

There was a lot of time to do this. There was a lengthy delay between the attack and Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza. Instead of taking this time to condemn Hamas’s slaughter, Arab and Muslim politicians and government leaders promoted anti-Jewish hate to shore up their political support. This is nothing less than encouraging antisemitism.

Muslim political and religious leaders, barring rare exceptions, chose to contextualize, equivocate and, in most cases, justify Hamas’s barbarity. What we have, as a result, is widespread hate bordering on violence in Canada — a country where communities have historically lived side-by-side in peace.

The situation got worse due to the statements made by community leaders like Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s special representative on combating Islamophobia, who did not hide her partisan and divisive outlook by clearly siding with the protesters on Canadian streets, characterizing them as “peaceful demonstrations,” even though we have seen people supporting Hamas, calling for genocide against Israeli Jews and harassing and intimidating Jewish-owned businesses.

Understandable as she is a “Human” rights activist I guess. Perhaps this pertains to her definition of Human? For example, after the Quebec mosque attack, almost ALL communities in Canada chose to stand with Muslims. There were images of people in Alberta who formed a human chain to protect Muslims. Similar scenes were witnessed elsewhere in the country. Jewish community leaders spoke out, loud and clear, in support of Muslims and against hate and bigotry.
(Remember the Muslim family who were killed in a hate-related attack in London, Ont., a couple years ago? ALL communities, including the Jewish community, across the political and religious spectrum unambiguously condemned that hate crime. And it brought a sense of relief and security to Muslims in Ontario.)

Remember how, after more that 50 people were gunned down while worshipping at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2019, political and religious leaders from ALL faiths stood behind Muslims and consoled them?

Yes, they're training future activists don't 'cha know? I'm sure all the 5 to 10 year old children know exactly what & why they're protesting. Hell, most adults don't know what or why they're protesting. Me thinks there's something going on that needs addressing, but that's just me.

Maybe it's time to to start paying attention to who is running for schoolboards or running if you have time.

And Trudeau says that there's "free speech" in Canada. What a joke!

On Tuesday, Ottawa’s official Islamophobia watchdog, Amira Alghawaby, cited figures from the Toronto Police saying that while antisemitic hate crimes were up 200 per cent, hate crimes against Muslims and Arabs had spiked by 900 per cent.

The statement makes it seem like hate incidents against Muslims are dramatically outpacing hate incidents against Jews. But the exact opposite is true. Of the 98 hate crime occurrences recorded by Toronto Police since Oct. 7, 56 were against Jews, while 20 were against Muslims and Arabs.

Alghawaby was able to cite the 900 per cent figure only because Toronto Jews already faced outsized levels of hate crime. For the same period in 2022, there were 18 antisemitic hate crimes versus two committed against Muslims or Arabs.

In the more than two months since the Oct. 7 massacre, Canadian politicians have often made a point of never condemning antisemitism without also condemning Islamophobia. Last month, after bullets were fired into two Montreal-area Jewish schools, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in his official reaction “violence, hate, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia … all of that is unacceptable.”
