The title of this thread should read: PALESTINIANS ATTACK ISRAEL, not Hamas. If Hamas wasn't the ruling government of Palestine, I would say the title is spot on, but the fact is that Hamas is the government, the army, and the police department, and I would dare say that most of their members are Palestinians.

All the hands-ringing for the poor Palestinians. The same Palestinians who spit on and mutilated the naked body of a woman dragged in like a macabre trophy after a large portion of their government and valiant leader attacked Israel on October 7th using rape and genocide as their weapon.

Palestinians are dying in the 10s of 1000s!

War is hell. Guess they shouldn't have started one.

GoJewsGo!
Technical point. Hamas is the government of Gaza, not Palestine. The Palestinian Authority is the government of the West Bank.

Also TB, those three hostages?

Shirtless and with a white flag.

That's not a mistake, that's intentional, or people so caught up in the moment they ignored rules of engagement. Unless those rules are to shoot any and every single person they see regardless.

Some Israeli veterans say the Israeli ROE are far too loose and of the "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" variety.

And they're collecting the rewards of that now.

The resolution referred to on the above video was a textbook example of the historic anti-Israel bias within the UN General Assembly – led by Arab and Muslim countries and other dictatorships – which routinely condemns Israel more than all other nations on earth combined, year after year.

The UN ceasefire resolution deliberately excluded any reference to Hamas – designated by Canada as a terrorist organization more than two decades ago – much less that it started the war on Oct. 7, through its terrorist attack on Israel.

“Illegal Israeli Actions in Occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

Given Trudeau’s own statement of just a few hours earlier, there is no logical reason for Canada to have supported the UN resolution calling for a ceasefire – other than trying to play both sides of the issue to a Canadian audience.

(“We … support urgent international efforts towards a sustainable ceasefire. This cannot be one-sided. Hamas must release all hostages, stop using Palestinian civilians as human shields, and lay down its arms.” & “There is no role for Hamas in the future governance of Gaza.” & the statement also said: “We recognize Israel’s right to exist and right to defend itself.”)

Indeed, in a previous UN vote calling for a humanitarian truce passed by the General Assembly on Oct. 26, Canada abstained, because that resolution failed to cite Hamas while criticizing Israel by name???

Because of that, Canada refused to endorse it.

Well, not all of the "historic bias" has been anti-Israel. The UN General Assembly approved the formation of the State of Israel in a resolution in 1948.
2023 - 1948 = historical. I’m sure in the 75 years since the UN has other non-anti-Israel motions and resolutions also. Are they about 50-50 or would they lean one way or the other?

Googled the above myself, and came up with this:

The UN Human Rights Council, a body dominated by dictatorships, regularly attacks Israel for defending itself. The UNHRC has passed as many resolutions against Israel as the rest of the world combined, and it has a blacklist of companies operating in Israeli-controlled, disputed territories.

Thats interesting. I figured a bias, but…

UN has been proven to be a joke again and again and again.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators held a rally outside the U.S. Consulate in downtown Toronto on Saturday afternoon to demand an immediate ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

These Canadians protested waving an ocean of Palestinian and Canadian flags…except for the Canadian flags part…but there is the occasional Lebanese and Hamas flag.
1702868877500.jpeg
The demonstration is the latest weekend mass rally led by pro-Palestinian activists since the start of the current conflict on Oct. 7.
1702869003519.jpeg
The event is organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), an international organization whose local chapter in Toronto has co-ordinated some of the largest pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the city. The American chapter of the PYM has has been designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

The group has been criticized for appearing to express support for Hama’s initial attack and hosting rallies across Canada and the United States in its wake. Two days after the attack in Israel, in which Hamas killed about 1,200 people and took more than 240 others hostage, PYM’s post referred to it as “active decolonization of Palestinian land led by the Palestinian resistance … in response to decades of brutal colonization and occupation.” Etc…

Organizers have billed this rally as being in support of health care workers in Gaza. Reuters reported earlier this month that 250 health care workers have been killed in Gaza since the war began. This figure comes from the Hamas health ministry in the Hamas-run territory.

Seriously, isn’t it weird that all these protesters protesting in Canada are assumably Canadians…or guests of Canada…or Landed Immigrants or Refugees in Canada…& never a Canadian Flag???
