So I'll ask again, and hone it down for you: is the same true of "moderate" Christians, "moderate" Buddhists, "moderate" Taoists, and suchlike? Or is this moral duty only on Muslims?
Ok, I attempted to point out a few oxymorons to make a point that ethical lawyers are a thing that exist. I did not list of every possible permutation of every example nor did I list all 72 genders just not to miss anything that might be dragged up in hindsight even though that has no relevance to what I was attempting to state.

So fill your boots and ask away ‘till the cows come home, as it’s your tangent, so you might as well enjoy it. I’ve attempted to answer your question twice, obviously not to your satisfaction, so why don’t you answer it, and others can agree or not agree as is their prerogative.

Now if there was something fresh regarding the Chinese interference in the last couple of Federal Elections in Canada, I’d post it here, but there doesn’t seem to be so….maybe another day.

Shame I didn’t stumble across this last night or I would’ve posted it at the tail end of #224:
Speaking in Tuesday’s question period in Ottawa, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre grilled Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about his involvement with his family’s foundation — the Trudeau Foundation. While the prime minister has previously stated he hasn’t engaged with the Trudeau Foundation for a decade, Poilievre asked why the group ‘allegedly’ held meetings at his office.

The prime minister’s brother, Alexandre (Sacha) Trudeau, will not have to testify before a parliamentary committee probing the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation and allegations of foreign interference in federal elections.
This is just a few days back.
On Monday, MPs who are on the Standing Committee on Public Accounts unanimously agreed to launch a brief study composed of two hearings into the “situation” at the Trudeau Foundation, on the condition that the witnesses not include any elected officials or Trudeau family members.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s brother says he is prepared to appear in front of a parliamentary committee to tell MPs everything he knows about the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation in an effort to protect its reputation.

“I want to testify in front of the committee that is taking care of this. I’m prepared to say everything I know about the foundation. It’s urgent!” Alexandre (Sacha) Trudeau said in a rare interview with Quebec-based newspaper Le Devoir.

The offer comes only days after MPs from the Commons Standing Committee on Public Accounts unanimously voted to exempt him from appearing as a witness to speak about the foundation and its alleged role in foreign interference in the last two federal elections.
(The agreement with the two Chinese businessmen who initially took credit for the donation was signed by Alexandre Trudeau, brother of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and a foundation board member at the time)
Sacha Trudeau reportedly negotiated and signed the deal for the Trudeau Foundation to receive a $200,000 donation from Chinese billionaire Zhang Bin in 2016. The foundation actually received $140,000, which it recently returned amid the fallout of the foreign interference allegations.

Trudeau has since left the board but still remains a member of the foundation.
Justin Trudeau has consistently repeated in recent weeks that he has not been involved in the foundation bearing his father’s name for nearly a decade.

When former Governor General David Johnston was selected as Canada’s “special rapporteur” to probe the extent of Chinese electoral interference, it was quickly noted that Johnston is a registered member of the Trudeau Foundation.

Morris Rosenberg — who was hired by the Trudeau government to draft an initial probeinto foreign interference in the 2021 election — is a former director of the Trudeau Foundation.

Conservative MP Garnett Genuis demanded a full investigation of the Trudeau Foundation during question period on Monday, saying that new revelations show the foundation hosted a meeting with five deputy ministers. Government House leader Mark Holland confirmed that the meeting in question “was in a building” but that there was no connection to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Yes he wants to testify as long as it is being blocked .

Former Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation president Pascale Fournier told MPs Friday she believes the non-profit organization’s earlier leadership misled the country by characterizing a donation from wealthy Chinese benefactors as a Canadian donation.

She criticized the way in which the foundation advertised this donation to Canadians, noting that former president Morris Rosenberg wrote an open letter in December 2016 – in response to media coverage – saying that the first $70,000 instalment was not considered a foreign donation “since it was paid by a Canadian entity.”

"I don't have direct or indirect ties with the foundation".

But he is still an "inactive member" which is at minimum indirect.

The foundation publicly identified Chinese billionaire Zhang Bin and fellow Chinese businessman Niu Gensheng as the donors. They were also credited in the organization’s annual report for their pledge of $200,000 – of which $140,000 was eventually donated.

However Ms. Fournier said she can’t be sure who the true donor was – and told MPs she was proposing a forensic audit of the matter before she left her position earlier this month. She noted the first 2016 tax receipt, for an initial $70,000 donation instalment, was made out to a Canadian subsidiary of a Chinese company and it was sent to an address in Beijing – one later identified as that of a Chinese-state backed industry association.

A tax receipt obtained by The Globe and Mail under access-to-information law shows the 2016 tax receipt for the instalment was issued to Millennium Golden Eagle International (Canada), the Canadian subsidiary of a Chinese company.

“I think this is something that is misleading to Canadians,’ Ms. Fournier told MPs. “There is a difference between the tax receipt – what it said, mentioning China – and the fact that it was presented publicly, in terms of interviews and publicly in terms of the annual report, that is currently on the website of the foundation, as Canadian.”

She said she found it unusual as she dug into the matter that a Chinese industry association – which she said was under the “guidance” of the China’s government – was communicating with foundation staff,

“They were giving clear directives on what needed to appear on receipts issued by the foundation, and I found that troubling, and I also realized that there was a Chinese address, whereas in the annual report, it was a Canadian address. And so there were all of these things that I wanted to shed a light on,” she said.
The Conservative chair of the committee, John Brassard, and NDP MP Matthew Green expressed concern that Ms. Fournier could be open to character assassination because of her willingness to provide testimony on the inner workings of the Trudeau Foundation and her concerns about the tainted Chinese money.

The two MPs told Mr. Fournier that she should alert them immediately if there is any effort to intimidate her and malign her reputation.

Ms. Fournier, a Harvard-trained lawyer, said she appreciated the support, saying her “entire career is build around my integrity and transparency.

Asked if Mr. Rosenberg had been fired over the donation, Ms. Fournier said: “I was not there at the time and I cannot answer that question.” (???Huh…that’s a new twist???)

Now you know why Trudeau bought and pushed Trans Mountain Pipeline. It wasn't because it has trans in the name. China wants the oil it bought.

This ties into post #231:

This is from six years ago when this first sees the light of day…& I don’t think he has a single sentence without at least one “uh” which seems to be an early ‘tell’ for Justin Trudeau when he isn’t following a script…

Then this is also from six years ago, from the CBC even, about Justin’s “Pay for Access” footsie games:
1682902097448.png
And then below is from just five days ago. Watch the Liberal MP’s faces that are behind JT when he falls into scripted non-answers when asked about these shenanigans.

Pascale Fournier, the Trudeau Foundation’s recently resigned CEO, told a House of Commons Ethics Committee hearing this week that things got “very heated” within the Trudeau Foundation after she started asking questions about a dodgy $140,000 donation from two Chinese businessmen known to be seeking inroads with the Trudeau government. Ultimately, the intransigency from other members regarding the donation prompted her to resign. “I had to step down and the eight board members who stepped down… resigned because there was a trust issue,” said Fournier.

Fournier’s predecessor appears to have had no such qualms about the donation, which even included an extra $60,000 for the Trudeau Foundation to conduct conferences about China. In piecing together the circumstances surrounding the 2016 donation (which preceded her tenure) Fournier even found evidence of financial irregularities; tax receipts issued to an entity that was different than the holding company which ultimately sent the money.

That predecessor, by the way, was Morris Rosenberg, the man first picked by the Trudeau government to investigate allegations of Chinese interference in the 2021 election.

In a written statement, the Trudeau Foundation pushed back against Fournier’s comments. It said it “strongly contests several of the statements made during this testimony” and said it is in contact with the committee to set a date for interim foundation chair Edward Johnson to testify and “correct” some of Fournier’s statements and assertions.

Morris Rosenberg, a former longtime civil servant who was CEO of the Trudeau Foundation at the time of the contentious donation, is also set to testify at the committee on Tuesday.

Rosenberg authored a report on interference attempts in the 2021 election, but ultimately came to the conclusion that the panel designed to flag interference “did not detect foreign interference that threatened Canada’s ability to have free and fair elections.”
The former CEO of the foundation, Pascale Fournier, revealed last week at the ethics committee that she found some discrepancies between the contract signed by Sacha Trudeau, the two cheques, the tax receipts and the foundation’s annual report, which she sought to correct.

Sacha Trudeau said in an interview with Quebec-based newspaper Le Devoir last week it was “urgent” that he testify in front of a parliamentary committee in order to protect the foundation’s reputation. “I’m prepared to share everything I know,” he said in the interview.

Alexandre (Sacha) Trudeau has accepted a parliamentary committee’s invitation to explain why he arranged to receive a controversial donation from China to the foundation bearing his father’s name.
