Joe Biden appears to fall asleep during interview
Caitlyn Jenner roasted the president after the interview

Sleeping or just resting his eyes?

It was nearly a year ago that U.S. President Joe Biden earned the nickname “Sleepy Joe” on social media after he appeared to fall asleep at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

Biden’s latest apparent nap took place during an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart – or, at the very least, when the president became lost for words for several awkward seconds.

When Biden was asked if First Lady Jill Biden would support him running for president again, he sat in seemingly stunned silence.

“I have not made that formal decision but it’s my intention to run again and we’ll have time to make that decision,” Biden told Capehart.

“Dr. Biden is for it?” Capehart joked, resulting in the extended silence from Biden, whose eyes remained open the entire time. “Mr. President …,” the flustered host followed up when the 79-year-old appeared to space out.

He eventually clued back in and replied, “Dr. Biden thinks that — my wife thinks that — that we’re doing something very important and that I shouldn’t walk away from it.”

Caitlyn Jenner roasted the president after the interview, posting a clip of the sit-down where he appeared to zone out.

“Xi is watching, Mr. President. Putin is watching. Voters are watching,” Jenner tweeted.

“You are not only a national embarrassment but an international security threat being this senile and illusive, on a DAILY BASIS,” she added. “Weakness breads instability, chaos, and violence. Get him out of office!”

The White House has long insisted that Biden intends to run again in 2024, though he said that an official decision would come after the midterm elections.

Biden is the oldest president in America’s history. If he were re-elected, he would be 86 at the end of a possible second term.

We used to have an MLA that was know as sleepy even before he was elected. I never did find out for sure if he has narcolepsy, or if it is just because he is just lazy.

Interesting news coming out of twitter as to how the DNC dictated what twitter could let be posted. More conspiracy theories proven as fact. See todays True North article. I couldn’t make it link.

Listened to Roosevelt’s speech after the Pearl Harbour attack . After I couldn’t help to think I could hear similar words and passion from most all prior Presidents but never in my wildest dreams can I believe the sitting president could .

Biden threatens Canadian jobs again with his Buy American protectionist promises
It’s time for Trudeau and his team to wake up from their sleepy attitude to Biden

Joseph R. Biden, the 46th president of the United States of America, is once again declaring war on Canadian industry and trade with this country.

Biden announced that much during his State of the Union speech Tuesday night.

It shouldn’t be shocking to anyone who has followed Biden over the years — the man is an ardent protectionist who pays lip service to trade while trying to stifle it.

“I’m also announcing new standards to require all construction materials used in federal infrastructure projects to be made in America. American-made lumber, glass, drywall, fiber optic cables,” Biden said to a standing ovation.

“And on my watch, American roads, American bridges, and American highways will be made with American products as well.”

The initial question many Canadians would have at hearing that statement would be what about free trade? We did just renegotiate NAFTA, the new version of which came into effect on July 1, 2020, but trade agreements don’t seem to concern Biden, who assured those gathered on Capitol Hill that his move was legal.

“It’s totally consistent with international trade rules,” Biden assured the joint meeting of Congress.

That remains to be seen, the devil will be, as they say, in the details.

This isn’t Biden’s first attempt at enacting protectionist policies that would harm Canadian industry. In 2021, Biden’s budget proposal looked at adding a massive subsidy for anyone buying an electric vehicle. The catch was that the vehicle had to be assembled in the U.S.A., most of the parts had to come from there and the battery had to be built in America.

The Trudeau government, supported by the Ontario government and industry, lobbied the Biden White House for months. In the end, it was the opposition of a few Democrat senators whose own local auto industry would have been hurt by the move that killed the initiative.

Biden has also doubled the tariff on Canadian softwood lumber, hurting much of our national forestry sector. In agriculture, they have moved towards a country of origin label system that could have a very negative impact on Canada’s beef and pork producers in particular.

Biden’s moves and policies create uncertainty in the market, make Canada a less attractive place to invest, and all of that hurts Canadian jobs. If you thought Donald Trump was protectionist, think again because Biden is much worse, and he does it all with a smile while claiming to be your best friend.

Once upon a time, the worst protectionist trade measures that would hit Canada came out of Congress and our prime minister could call on the president of the day to try and smooth things over. Since the Obama administration, the most protectionist place in Washington has been the White House and with each new occupant, things have only gotten worse for Canada.

A month ago, Biden was at the North American Leader’s Summit in Mexico talking about strengthening supply chains with Canada. Now, he’s once again threatening to harm those very supply chains through disruption and protectionist measures.

It will take some time to find out the full extent of Biden’s plans and what the impact will be on Canadian companies and jobs, but the early signs aren’t good. This is a president who is clearly intent on walking back the gains made for the economies of both of our countries through freer trade, one who wants to build walls at the border, not to keep people out but goods and services.

It’s time for Trudeau and his team to wake up from their sleepy attitude to Biden and give him the same all-hands-on-deck treatment they gave Trump’s protectionist moves.

Jobs and the fate of families depend on this.

Doctor says lesion removed from Biden's chest was cancerous

WASHINGTON — A skin lesion removed from President Joe Biden’s chest last month was a basal cell carcinoma — a common form of skin cancer — his doctor said Friday, adding that no further treatment was required.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House doctor who has served as Biden’s longtime physician, said “all cancerous tissue was successfully removed” during the president’s routine physical on Feb. 16. Biden, 80, was deemed by O’Connor to be “ healthy, vigorous” and “fit ” to handle his White House responsibilities during that physical exam, which comes as he is weeks away from launching an expected bid for reelection in 2024.

O’Connor said the site of the removal on Biden’s chest has “healed nicely” and the president will continue regular skin screenings as part of his routine health plan.

Basal cells are among the most common and easily treated forms of cancer — especially when caught early. O’Connor said they don’t tend to spread like other cancers, but could grow in size, which is why they are removed.

Biden had “several localized non-melanoma skin cancers” removed from his body before he started his presidency, O’Connor said in his Feb. 16 summary of the president’s health, noting it was well established that Biden spent a lot of time in the sun during his youth.

First lady Jill Biden in January had two basal cell lesions removed from her right eye and chest.

She said in an Associated Press interview last week that she’s now “extra careful” about sunscreen, especially when she’s at the beach.

Basal cell carcinoma is a slow-growing cancer that usually is confined to the surface of skin — doctors almost always can remove it all with a shallow incision — and seldom causes serious complications or becomes life-threatening.

The Bidens have long been advocates for fighting cancer. Their adult son Beau died in 2015 from brain cancer.

His whole administration is cancerous. When does removal start?
