Seriously, what even is the point of laws and police and courts if they're just going to do stuff like this. The guy has numerous previous assault charges. gets arrested, breeches his bail and doesn't even show up for his trial because he just doesn't give a crap, and then the judge proves to everyone he was right not to give a crap by sentencing him to a single day.

What kind of 'judge' thinks this is any kind of justice?

It's fear, his own fear. Canada has already seen him try to grab complete power, twice. He really tipped his hat with the Emergencies Act and now everyone knows he's a power-hungry little goof. The real irony is Trudeau is the one who is directly responsible for the Freedom Convoy. He created the monster, so to speak.

It was an incredibly amateurish version of a communist tactic where you backhandedly create or even just invent a crisis and then insist you're the only one who can fix/end it. In the case of the Freedom Convoy, Trudeau did both.
