The trouble is that Conservative policy isn't particularly attractive under close examination, consisting chiefly of austerity programs and favours to the corporate sector. They need the distraction of giving voters something to be angry about.
Most voters want the free money and ballooning deficits offered by the Lieberals. They don't understand that they will be the ones affected someday. But free money. And dreamy haired leader.

If the Conservatives were smart, they'd use this time grow that tent.

Really big opportunity for them and I strongly doubt Peepee is the answer but hey, I could be wrong.
There is the problem of the religious zealots supporting the party. Really all those people should vote liberal since neither group believes in freedom or democracy.

Austerity is good, especially while having not only a recurring deficit, but massive accumulated debt. Trouble is, most of the non involved voters only hear free free free. That is what they vote for.
Did you ever add up the taxpayer's $$$$ turdOWE has given to large companies to support his policies?

It's true. In 300 or so years those ballooning deficits will really come back to haunt us.

It's pretty obvious that austerity only benefits the wealthy. Sure, you can spend away money on beer and popcorn as well but you can't deny that the government puts most of it into social programs.

Investments that also build up the economy, which is why we're doing way better now than the Harper years.

It will be a lot sooner than 300 years.....Me, I've changed my stance. I am almost 70 now, I will be lucky to have 15-20 years left. I have told my kids I am living my life to the fullest and piss on them for voting for the pothead and his cronies. Hope I died while spending my last buck and they can pay the damn funeral.....lol

The government squanders more money in administration that what actually gets used for the program it was intended for. THere are also many "social"programs we don't need or are duplicated at other levels of government. The gun grap is a prime example of wasting tax money to buy votes from the not too bright in cities. As is rebates for buying electric vehicles. The poor cannot afford a new vehicle to start with, and only the well off can afford the price of an electric vehicle. Added to the excessive pay and perks for government employees and unelected government bodies .
Governments have to learn to live within their means. Without such excessive taxation.

We have to get our spending under control before the WEF and the World bank call our loans and take over the books and national assets. They will set our loan re-payments thus our tax rate and set the national budget.

Remember you will own nothing and love it

The governments are also big on corporate welfare. Like the Honda plant photo-op a while back. Shovel money to Honda because they can get a nice photo-op. They do this more often than you would like to think.

You poor thing.

It must be hard knowing that the same fear hasn't come true in the last 50 years.

No...I love my kids. My kids also are allowed to make their own choices. They also know that they have to live with those choices. We agree on many things, just not that.....their choice.
You have an interesting way of expressing it. I guess maybe in Canada "Piss on you" is an expression of affection.

The problem with Conservatives, NDP and Liberal policies are that people don't read the policies so they don't know what is being offered thus vote in ignorance which is why apathy is one of the most dangerous issues to confront Canadians to date. I believe that this is where "voting has consequences" comes to the fore.

WE now have a contender that will work for us. MP Marc Dalton is from BC.
I expect all members west of Ontariowe to vote for him so we can break the Laurentian Elite stranglehold on our country.
