Ugh…”and well Canada has imported very little in recent years this sends a very important message….”

Canada has not imported any “crude oil” from Russia since early in 2019, but it does import refined oil products, but that’s not being affected with Trudeau’s statement of banning “crude oil” from Russia.

Another empty gesture worthy of a photo op.

I afraid after he sanctioned Russia, his poll will go up and this is not great

Ah….spoke too soon. Canada’s announcement on Monday of a ban on Russian crude oil imports was met with a shrug in energy-savvy quarters of the country familiar with the negligible volumes of Russian crude arriving on Canadian shores compared to the vast amounts originating from the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

But Tuesday evening, Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson clarified that the ban will also include the import of refined petroleum products and other oil products from Russia, which experts say could include jet fuel, gasoline and other niche petroleum products.

Canada hasn’t imported any Russian crude oil since 2019 when the country imported about 18,000 barrels per day from Russia (out of total crude imports of 963,000 barrels per day), according to information from Johnston and the Canada Energy Regulator.

However, Canada did import about 10,000 barrels per day of petroleum products from Russia last year, about 50 per cent made up of gasoline and gasoline blends, according to an analysis of government data by Johnston.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney welcomed news of the ban on Russian crude imports, but said the federal government should overhaul Canada’s energy policies to make global energy security a top priority.

“The single most powerful thing that Canada could do with the third-largest energy reserves in the world is to make it a national cause of some urgency to get LNG exports to both the west and east coast (and) to revive the concept of Energy East,” Kenney told reporters Tuesday in Red Deer, referring to the cancelled oil pipeline from Western Canada to the East Coast.

“What about all of the other conflict oil that is imported to the east coast of Canada, why do they get a pass? If we could (transport) a million barrels a day of responsibly-produced Canadian energy to the Irving refinery, we could completely displace those OPEC+ imports to Canada.”

Kenney went on to say the war in Ukraine has provoked a “newfound realism” about the imperative of energy security among some democratic countries.

“This should completely change the national conversation and the policy framework to make global energy security a central priority of the government of Canada and of the United States.”

Instead, diners at Le Roy Jucep in Drummondville will have to settle with ordering “la frite fromage sauce” or “fries cheese gravy” when they’re craving the comfort dish.

“Dear clients and friends,” the Quebec eatery wrote in a Facebook post on Friday. “This evening, the Jucep team has chosen to temporarily remove the word ‘p**tine’ from its trademark in order to express, in its own way, its deep dismay at the situation in Ukraine.”

In French, Putin’s last name is written and pronounced “Poutine,” exactly like Quebec’s signature dish.

Le Roy Jucep, which prides itself as the inventor of poutine, subsequently deleted the post due to threatening phone calls, MTL Blog reported.

Despite the hateful messages, the restaurant said they’re happy their tiny gesture has made its way to Ukraine. The restaurant added that the move was not a marketing ploy.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Le Roy Jucep shared a clip from Radio-Canada television of a Ukrainian thanking them for the gesture.

“If we could make someone smile there, that’s already a win! We are with you from the bottom of our hearts,” the restaurant said in the post.

Really?

There is no comparing the two. FFS anyone who thinks Trudeau is equal to Putin needs to either wake up, or grow up.
Well, Tucker Coughlin on Fox says True Dope hurt his feels by calling him nasty names. . .

Thought I'd give the usual suspects the chance to whine in. . . um. . . weigh in.

Provided an excellent hair-care and grooming example to da yoot of Canada!

I'm glad you only demanded one. . .
Not for me. I go for the Steve Harvey look.

As for JT and Putin, Trudeau has shown he is corrupt, nothing compared to Putin I bet, most of which we don't likely know about. Thing is, Ukraines government is almost as corrupt as Putins. Trudy has nothing on either of them.
