No, don't put it back on me. You asked first, and I asked you to explain what you meant by it, that ball's in your side of the court.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41, NIV). Jesus discriminates between human spirit and flesh.

Shit it's not even Sunday and you're Bible thumping already.. Christ
“One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind” (Romans 14:5, NIV).

I'll answer. The way most people, especially the religious, use it, it appears to mean "emotional." The primary emotions being fear of not being loved and fear of dying.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18, NIV).

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Jesus discriminates between human spirit and flesh.
No doubt, but what you and Jesus mean by "human spirit" is nothing like what I mean by it, because there's no such thing as a soul in the literal sense of some transcendent part of the personality that survives the death of the body. That doesn't answer what I asked you either. Try creating your own answers instead of just citing some scriptural passage in response to what others say. People will take you more seriously if you do a little thinking of your own.

What do you mean by “spirit”?

What are your spiritual feelings?
That's it's essential that I cultivate knowledge and understanding of my and others' needs and feelings so that I can do as well as possible in whatever roles--husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, friend, etc.--I have in the lives of people I care about. The meaning of life is to be found there, and that's all there is.

It took quite a bit of semantic gymnastics for us to finally arrive here, DS 😊

There is no immaterial self, what we call mind or spirit is a manifestation of complex and subtle interactions among various bits of matter and energy in the brain, and it all expires together.

What is the source and support of the matter and energy?

What becomes of your immaterial self (spiritual feelings) when your material self (body) expires?
Neither Dex nor I knows what if anything happens.

Difference is we know we don't know, and you're so terrified of it that you've latched on to a promise that you'll continue to live with zero evidence.

You're not the first to buy the snake oil.
