I suspect that most people who have time shares are getting rid of them. Why pay for something you can't use? We were going to winter in BC as the weather is better for him medically. Upon investigation, we found that we're considered "foreigners' so there was an additional 15% charge if we chose to buy. Needless to say, we're still here and have no intention of moving to BC anytime soon. Don't know if that's been changed. Didn't know BC was it's own little "fiefdom".

It was supposed to try and slow down an ever rising market , but somehow turned into a cash cow . The only thing government bureaucrats know . How to fleece the golden goose .

I'm moving back to Sask, Dixie. Done with BC forever. Happy to hear you didn't make the mistake of moving.

It's terrible to see how much everything is getting more expensive after the wave of the pandemic. I can't even imagine how people live who have lost their jobs and are left without a stable income. I have a wife and a small child, and we were planning to buy a house this year, as we had been saving up for a long time and wanted to move to a new place. However, we were just shocked when we saw how expensive everything had become, especially buying a home. It's good that I was constantly looking for different options and services to purchase housing and found an excellent opportunity for townhouse for sale Philippines, which I will later acquire. I hope that each of you has not faced any problems caused by the economic crisis, as it brings a lot of stress

There's one sure fix for that......................Gov't should impose a $20,000 surcharge + 10% of the purchase price! That should slow the bastards down!

Foreign buyers account for less than 10% of house sales. Not really an issue. The other problem is that if we ban foreigners from buying in Canada other countries will reciprocate and ban Canadians from owning land in their countries.
The real problems with housing is mostly municipal bylaws and community plans. Along with a federal immigration policies that do not take into account places for all these people to live.

No, the real problem with housing is Canada's reckless immigration system. We import hundreds of thousands of people every year, all of whom need housing. Are residential units being built to keep pace with immigration? I don't think so.
