People have grown casual about the guidelines here too. Hardly a mask in site..........and distancing is not being respected either. The numbers are going up. All one can do is wear the mask and keep distant from these irresponsible ones. Of course there is pandemic fatigue.......but that will only gt worse the more prolonged this is.

Maybe , just maybe people like that NEED to live under an authoritarian regime........ as then they would have no choice but to follow instructions and get rid of the pandemic. they are not responsible enough to handle true democracy and differentiate that from a health care hazard.

Maybe they are refusing to comply in order to show their support for Trump.
And just who is the fascist?

Yes.that s correct. Mind you......Trump LIED and now over 200,000 are dead. China got their under better control. ...and yes......using firmer instructions.......but the virus is not something to mess around with.
We in CDA could have been firmer in regulations from the onset....but no one really knew what we all were dealing wit.
dealing with an unknown entity ........is a challenge for anyone........even the experts.
And yet Trump shut down international travel while turdOWE was still bribing a UN seat in foreign dictatorships. How do you explain that?

So how bad do you want it to get before you will decide something needs to be done about it? No doubt there's a lot of folks out who are finding dying to be inconvenient, but why would you care? You apparently don't give a shit!
You already know the chances of death are minuscule, why do you keep gum flapping nonsense?

I'm at a far bigger risk than you are. Do you hear me barking at the moon?

Why not?

It's not about you and me Pete or what our individual perils are. I simply made a point about how bad it is in the U.K. which I doubt anyone of sound mind would deny. Boris is doing the right thing in my judgment.:)

How bad do you want the overall mental health of society to get before you come to your senses? How about the education of kids? What about the economy which is already on life support? What about government budgets which are hemmoraging and will take decades or longer to repair and which will result in deep austerity for generations? How about small and medium sized businesses, many of which have already sustained terminal damage?

Apparently you don't seem to understand that nothing in life is sterile and without risk. You don't seem to be able to comprehend that everything is a give and take. You're too gripped by fear.

Not giving a shit is telling people that they should ignore all these factors for a scary scenario that you conjured up in your head may or may not happen. Selfishness is putting your own hypochondria ahead of the overall well being of society.

But Pete, what if you were left with long term health disability?

And what if you're not?

What are you willing to sacrifice for "what if?" I guess that's the question, and everyone has a different threshold of tolerance.

The entire country is in denial: the second wave is here and there are more shut downs and lock downs coming - and more money the will need to be borrowed.
Or more businesses can close for good and more people can be made homeless - that is the reality of "fiscal restraint"
This is why Trudeau should have been granted the emergency war measures he asked for.
We are going to be facing the worst of it with the separatists all crying about fiscal restraint - as if that was ever a choice. It will be a tough fall for the government and I half expect Trudeau to either call an election or put something in the throne speech either separatists or the lefties cannot allow - and make them to force an election they cannot win. The Liberals will come out of it with a majority and everyone knows it.

So it will be politics as usual in Ottawa at a time when there should be no politics at all.
