25% of my wage goes to taxes, not 50%.

Does that cover ALL taxes, hidden ones included? Most of us put gas in our vehicles w/o even giving tax a thought. One of the most hideous taxes is that real estate tax whenever you purchase a house. I would say you are damn lucky if you get away with only 25%. What percentage of utility bills are tax?

Until they get desperately ill and can afford neither food, clothing or a roof! :)
Gee, I remember my parents buying something called insurance before the gubmint took over healthcare. We never were without food, or clothes, or a roof.

One of the biggest problems with Gov't running anything is the # of useless bureaucraps sucking on the tit!

Exactly. Providing safeguards to our most vulnerable members of society has been proven to be beneficial for all segments of society. The top 5 countries in quality of life all have affordable housing, healthcare to all, and welfare for the poor. It's not perfect, but it is far better than what is happening in America.
What is happening in America ?

I guess what it all boils down to is people who balk at paying taxes would rather have a free ride paid by someone else! :)
I guess what might an acceptable alternative might be for everyone to take the responsibility for their own health and buy their own health insurance where the premiums are based on risk. That wouldn't address the problems faced by the destitute, so maybe the existing system IS best overall.
Maybe , but how much is to much ? With federal , provincial and municipal taxes ladies and fees we already give better then 50% . When is enough enough ? How many times have I heard , it is only the cost of your daily coffee ?

Since April:
-the economy has collapsed
-America has the highest rate of COVID, per capita than any other developed country, by far
-massive civil unrest
-questionable deployment of federal officers
-compromising the USPS
-discrediting the most reputable virologist in North America
-peddling drugs and treatments that do not work
-refusing to address intelligence that Russia has placed bounties on US soldiers
-letting Larry Kudlow become the economic advisor
-letting Jared Kushner run the COVID pandemic response
-letting a turncoat and 5 time loser like Peter Navarro in charge of trade
This is only on the top of my head. If you gave me a few hours, I could think of several dozen more.

Mind if I add one?

Voter suppression.

Whether he knows it or not, MB he is going down and it will only get worse between now and Nov.3!

I admire your confidence JLM, I am not as confident as you in your prediction but I am hopeful. It's going to get much worse, no doubt about that. Trump knows only one way to fight, dirty and sadly people who support him eat that shit up.

His support comes from the noisy minority. Sensible people (the majority) aren't taken in with bluster and bull shit. One tell tale sign with Trump is he never shows any uncertainty in anything he says. Professionals don't act that way.

Globalresearch.ca is run by Michael Chossudovsky, a 9/11 truther, and a conspiracy theorist. He also has ties to the Kremlin, and has been accused numerous times of spreading pro-Russia propaganda.
The Dailywire is run by Ben Shapiro, and has a very poor reputation of misinformation, and has been caught spreading false news on numerous occasions.

I guess that still leaves 1 link that meets your qualifications then.

None of that seems so bad , except for the economy , which is not in taters as you say .
