Americans have come to depend on the modern iteration of the Postal Service to quickly deliver lifesaving medicines, election ballots, bills, checks, and other goods through rough weather, world wars, natural disasters, and pandemics. Nearly 6,190 USPS employees, deemed essential workers, have tested positive for COVID-19, and more than 60 have died.
But now, as the cash-strained Postal Service faces what union leadership is calling “Christmas every day for package delivery” and an impending November presidential election that will likely necessitate an unprecedented increase in vote-by-mail ballots, it appears that the 108-year-old credo may have met its match in new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
“These changes are happening because there’s a White House agenda to privatize and sell off the public Postal Service,” said Mark Dimondstein, president of the American Postal Workers Union. “But there’s too much approval for the organization right now. They want to separate the service from the people and then degrade it to the point where people aren’t going to like it anymore.”
The end of overtime work and other changes come as the Postal Service staff finds itself stretched thin. Nearly 40,000 workers have had to quarantine for two weeks after exposure to the virus, according to sources close to the USPS.

There are countries that would love to vote in the concept of a free and fair election. Meanwhile Trump is messing with an institution hard fought for .......and not all that long ago. What is also shameful is that the population chooses not to vote when thinks get challenging. They too abuse the privilege of the vote. They behave like the spoil child that never matures. Yet they squeal about rights when it comes to health safety.(Wearing masks) There are two rights that are not being addressed: The right to the best quality of health care for everyone. The right for the best education for everyone. Without those two , a country deteriorates rapidly. Of course the third one is: the right to a fair and nonprejudicial legal system for everyone. Otherwise any shape of equality has no chance.

When someone is handed everything on a silver platter they have no appreciation for anything.

Trump is the product of an entitled upbringing. A man with no talent, ability or understanding. Asking him to understand the struggle for freedom or democracy would be like asking him to understand quantum physics.

IMHO Obama was a mediocre POTUS unable to sway the Fundamentalist GOP in the Senate, and he certainly screwed up with Iran and Syria. He was also the victim of racist bigoted halfwits such as yourself.

Trump is a pathological liar in every fibre of his being, he is narcissistic to the level of complete neurosis, and for all his rhetoric re. trade etc., has accomplished SFA except to damage international trade and relations for the USA, who, contrary to his High School logic is indeed needed by the USA.

Biden IMHO will be a dull inoffensive POTUS, but that is all the USA needs right now; breathing space bringing a return to some semblance of normality. (We hope).

None of anyone’s business how he made his money. The IRS can notify the law if he his tax returns look fishy. I’m sure he’s audited a lot.
