Well Ron, you know how the Liberals will re-write history and have insisted that Harper left this country in a world of hurt, despite facts that say otherwise. But what does one expect? Trudeau, in the mean time, does just the opposite and he's "done a good job!" You can't make this stuff up!

Also, I agree with your post about police over-sight. I would imagine the issue is getting people trained who are not cops to review every major incident.

I knew Alberta had an over sight committee but I didn't realize that they were all cops or former cops. That doesn't make me feel very comfortable, especially if I ever did have a complaint against police .

Fortunately, every cop I have met in Edmonton have been professional and very easy to talk to and they do really care about our community. Are there maybe some bad apples? I would be surprised if there weren't but hopefully there is something in place that will assist them on their way out of their chosen vocation.

Harper added bigly to the national debt while working 24/7 for the oil industry.

The only reason I remember him with fondness is that he managed to put the conservatives out of power for decades to come..

He is up there with Mulroney in my books.

Yep, he steered the nation through the 2008-2009 global financial crisis while through much of his terms being in a minority Gov't situation while pacifying the Bloc & Lib's & Dippers....& still managed to get things back on track for the nation by the end of his terms and potentially pass the baton to the new guy with an annual budgetary surplus (at least until October 19th, 2015 where that surplus went out the window). What a bastard that Harper guy was!!

I'm not sure of your math but the Conservatives where in the PMO position until October 19th, 2015 & it's now July 19th, 2020 so that's only 4&3/4yrs ago....and there could be a non-confidence vote on the current minority Gov't occupying the PMO spot at any time once Parliament resumes in Parliament and off Justin's front stoop.

The Harper "surplus" came by way of defunding veterans.

I can understand how you would love that.

If you notice those little blue sentences in most of my posts with that are underlined? Especially when I’m replying to you? Those are called LINK’s & they connect you to other places on the Internet to back up what I’m stating. They are an easy reference so that people reading this and realize that I’m not just pulling random drive-by statements out of my arse. That makes them kind of awesome. Can you please post a link to back up what you’re saying above?

Here. Here's a Place to start. Try Googling "Harper April 6, 2006 Veterans" and it'll feel like a slam dunk at first.
Chase that search with "Did Harper have a Majority Mandate in 2006?" and then ask yourself, 'Who was he appeasing with the New Veterans Charter?' Who's brainchild was the New Veterans Charter? Where & when did it come from?

Here's a clue: The charter was conceived and passed by Paul Martin's Liberals with the support of all parties. This didn't happen when Stevie was in the PM's chair. Dude had to do a lot of appeasing to stay in office for those 9 years & through the 2008-2009 global financial crisis.

wonder how many Trudeau haters refused the funds that came to them due to the pandemic crisis.....

He has made mistakes. Naive mistakes. No question. But he is capable of apologizing and trying to do better. THAT is a lot more than many other arrogant leaders on the planet.

If folks can do his job better.......then go for it.

Refuse the funds after tater tot basically pulled everyone's employment out from under them?

As for his apology-making skills, well, he has been making so many mistakes and getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar so often that he's an expert at apologizing.

Ultimately, a rotting fence pole in a field could do a better job than him
