I mainly agree on spending the money up to a point. It should ONLY be spent on necessities, while saving enough to provide for up coming necessities. This recession (depression) we are in could last for several years and needless to say gov't handouts (loans) will only happen in the very near future. Don't risk being like Venezuela. :)

Don’t forget about the second wave. Many won’t and will wisely save any money they have to prepare for it.

This ain’t over.

People also have been deferring payments during this whole thing and it may lead to a depression if it already hasn’t. President Grotesque Gutsack was already on shaky ground and this won’t help.
Older people with lots of money are also unable to spend that money on travel now.

Where are they going to spend that mony they had ear-marked for travel?

There is one hell of a lot of discretionary cash in this country just laying there waiting to get spent.

One thing I have noticed is that people are working on their houses. Cleaning them up and repairing and renoing them.

Home Depot must be doing record business.

The service industry is suffering and was set to expand with the onslaught of baby boomers retiring.

That would be a good thing. People are employed and topping up the Gov't coffers!

“The idea is not just to beat him, it is to end the scourge of Trumpism in this country forever.” —Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville

Yes indeed, after you step on the roach burn it alive along with it's entire family.
Might be tough. The roach has infected the minds of many..Critical thinking does not even exist anymore.

Even if Biden wins......Trump will make it a point of making it miserable for him and his administration , bashing, tweeting and other petulant childish conduct. The chap is mentally disturbed. Why are folks so shy about admitting it to themselves. He i s deranged in his behavior, his tweets, , and emotionally over reactive.......and irresponsible. He is deviously self centered.

After this sick era of Trumpism.......the US would be smart to make a psychological evaluation part of the requirements for running for the job. But the yahoo country is just not sophisticated enough to do that.

Very true. YT included. This pandemic is creating a very clean country. ;-)

Now , if the US would "sanitize" their Oval office from the current scourge .......in November. The whole world will be a better place. Perhaps the core problem is that the population has elevated the role of POTUS to such a level........some consider the role a form of royalty. They are afraid to even criticize the most obvious issues. That is not the mindset of a democracy.

“This Is So Unfair to Me”: Trump Whines About His COVID-19 Victimhood as Campaign Flails

Raging at campaign manager Brad Parscale and Joe Scarborough, Trump attempts a campaign reset. But “Trump can’t pivot to a different strategy,” says an adviser. Because he’s the problem.

As he headed into Memorial Day weekend, Donald Trump complained that he was COVID-19’s biggest victim. “He was just in a ****ing rage,” said a person who spoke with Trump late last week. “He was saying, ‘This is so unfair to me! Everything was going great. We were cruising to reelection!” Even as the death toll neared 100,000 and unemployment ranks swelled to over 38 million, Trump couldn’t see the pandemic as anything other than something that had happened to him. “The problem is he has no empathy,” the adviser said. Trump complained that he should have been warned about the virus sooner. “The intelligence community let me down!” he said.
The White House declined to comment.
Trump’s outburst reflected his growing frustration that, at this stage of the race, he is losing to Joe Biden. According to a Republican briefed on the campaign’s internal polls, Trump is trailing Biden by double digits among women over 50 in six swing states. “Trump knows the numbers are bad. It’s why he’s thrashing about,” the Republican said.
Even those closest to Trump have been privately worried the election is slipping away. According to a source, Melania Trump warned the president during their trip to India in February to take the virus response seriously. “He totally blew her off,” the source said. Melania later told people that Trump “only hears what he wants to hear and surrounds himself with yes-people and family,” the source added.
The first lady’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Trump threatens to close down social media platforms which ‘silence conservative voices’ after Twitter posts warning under his tweet

President urges firms to ‘Clean up your act, NOW!!!!’, without any apparent irony

Donald Trump has threatened to close down social media platforms that do not support his agenda, a day after Twitter posted a fact-checking notice on one of his tweets.
Social media firms suppressed conservative points of view, the president claimed without providing any evidence, before saying his administration would “strongly regulate [the companies] or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen”.
Mr Trump advised the companies to “Clean up your act, NOW!!!!”.
It is unclear whether the president’s professed goal would be compatible with the first amendment to the US constitution.
On Wednesday, he tweeted: “Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that happen again.
“Just like we can’t let large scale Mail-In Ballots take root in our Country. It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of Ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, Social Media. Clean up your act, NOW!!!!”

Trump's base seemed untouchable. Now it's eroding with 5 months to go before Election Day.

If this is true......that is good news .His supporters have accepted a LOT Of insane behavior from him.......and tried to normalize it. Maybe they are realizing that he is NOT a leader....by any shape or from. That he is menially unstable....... sociopath. He has shown no compassion, ore empathy for the survivors of the 100,000 that died. All he cares about is how he looks, and about Himself. ..and power.

That is NOT a leader . He is a tyrant. Even twitter is FINALLY. fact checking his garbage on there. what the heck took them so long??

Oh the hypocrisy...

"White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has supported President Donald Trump’s baseless claims that voting by mail is wrought with fraud, but she has taken extensive advantage of Florida rules that allow that practice, with a Tampa Bay Times review finding McEnany has mailed in a ballot for every election she’s participated in since 2010."

He is indeed...with a sociopathic personality. No empathy. No compassion. He is not capable of either ...... but can be brutally sadistic/ cruel. and remember his words:

I don't take responsibility at all

Not a leader, never was. Anyone that has held leadership positions KNOWS that.....Anyone that has worked with good leaders..KNOWS that too.
