DO the math 37000000 million people in Canada, with 237 deaths is .000640%. Enough with the panic and fear mongering.

The news and politicians are blowing this up..

Yes people will die, but still more people die of car accidents, flu and cancer each year.. no quarantine.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Trump begins the April 6 #TrumpPressBriefing by announcing he's dispatched "two of the leading companies, these are brilliant companies" to go to the UK and help treat Boris Johnson -- but he never bothers mentioning their names
That is incorrect . Trump was speaking of two British Companies .

I said he MAY be on a ventilator, not that he is.

You don't go to the ICU with just minor symptoms. ICU would be for serious issues breathing.

He could get worse, he could get better.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

It certainly is not lost on me how many dedicated men and women are working around the clock the world over to find a drug/vaccine that will be effective against the coronavirus. And we look up to celebrities and athletes, pfft. These are the people that should have awards shows in prime time and have their faces on trading cards.
You are free to make and distribute such cards . Go for it .

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

excellent point. Society has a seriously misplaced sense of hero worship. It is the scientists, the mathematicians, the research teams in all categories that deserve much more recognition than the narcissistic actors and sports people. They have their place..no doubt .......but they are there to ENTERTAIN us........while these other groups make society move forward in so many ways. that are critical to humanity.

Interesting that this collective experience can give one pause and time for reflection on where priorities can be re evaluated ...
You also can start a company making and selling cards honouring these people . Go for it , why wait for spring .

Less car accidents happening with so much traffic off the roads .

Yep you have two very different groups here, one spends pretty much their entire time trying to enhance their own future, while the other is working feverishly for the betterment of mankind! :)

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

They have a name for people who don't think the stay at home order is good.. Covidiots.
Is that what you are promoting??

'Idiot' Kiwi health minister breaks lockdown, keeps job

New Zealand's health minister described himself as "an idiot" Tuesday for breaking lockdown restrictions, but kept his job coordinating the South Pacific nation's COVID-19 response.
Health Minister David Clark said he offered his resignation to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern after revealing he took a 20-kilometre (12.5-mile) drive to the beach with his family.
Clark admitted the trip was a clear breach of the country's strict lockdown rules, under which families must stay close to home, and his position meant he should have been setting an example.
"At a time when we are asking New Zealanders to make historic sacrifices, I've let the team down," he said in a statement.
"I've been an idiot and I understand why people will be angry with me."
Clark also said he had been on short two-kilometre drives with his family, which he said were within the rules.
Ardern said under normal circumstances, she would have sacked Clark -- but instead, she stripped him of the junior role of associated finance minister and demoted him in the cabinet rankings.
"What he did was wrong, and there are no excuses," she said.
"But right now, my priority is our collective fight against COVID-19. We cannot afford massive disruption in the health sector or to our response. For that reason, and that reason alone, Dr. Clark will maintain his role."
Scotland's chief medical officer Catherine Calderwood resigned Sunday for breaking the rules after twice visiting her second home, despite fronting an ad campaign calling for Scots to stay at home.

Kinda evidence that something else is a foot when Gov. elites don't take the lockdown seriously no?

3M makes deal with White House, says Canada will continue to receive N95 masks
3M makes deal with White House, says Canada will continue to receive N95 masks
Trudeau was right not to react in some kind of childish retaliation to trump's attempt to hoard masks......as if they were toilet paper. The CDN negotiators are doing a good and responsible ......and mature job. So far the CDN fed and provincial gov'ts are handling this quite well.......with team work.

COVID-19: Coquitlam company retools, will be first in Canada to produce N95 respirators

……………….Starting Tuesday, 100,000 medical-grade surgical masks will be rolling off the assembly line daily. Once the second machine arrives, he will be able to produce 100,000 N95 respirators a day as well.
“Three weeks ago, I was walking the factory floor, and with the majority of my clients announcing closures, I was thinking about how I was going to keep everyone employed. And these people have been with me for so long, I knew that they had families and it was important to keep the family business running.”
Zanatta’s first customer was the Provincial Health Services Authority, with an order for 500,000 masks, followed by the RCMP with an order for 30,000. He is also fielding inquiries from across the U.S.
“We wouldn’t say no to them, but we will be filling our Canadian orders first,” said Zanatta.

Surgical masks and N95 respirators must meet strict guidelines, and Zanatta has been certified by Health Canada.
“It’s been a nerve-racking two weeks, and probably the most exciting two weeks of my life.”
Zanatta, who runs the business with his wife Julie, said the last three weeks have also been a lesson in the importance of community.
“My contact in China is a small business owner too — a husband and a wife, and two small children working just as hard as we are to produce the machines to help get this virus under control. What it highlights for me is how intertwined we all are — we are one people and one world.
While medical-grade masks are not recommended for the general public, Canada’s top medical health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said Monday that as “an additional measure simple cloth masks can help prevent the wearer from spreading the virus to others in places where physical distancing is difficult.

So what does the bolded say about Zanatta

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Yep, at the very least Trudeau didn't have a public temper tantrum on Twitter over it. I don't compliment him very often, but in this case I can recognize a job done. And I certainly appreciate 3M for standing up to the bully in chief.
Funny too is the fact that a bulk of the N95"s that Trump needs to help win an electi... I mean keep his health care providers and first responders safe will now be shipped in from another country. Hmm, funny how that working together thing came full circle to bite him on the ass like that.
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/poli...e-to-receive-n95-masks/ar-BB12epPE?li=AAggNb9
3M and the U.S. government "worked together to ensure that this plan does not create further humanitarian implications for countries currently fighting the COVID-19 outbreak," the company said in a statement that emerged on the heels of Trump's latest marathon briefing at the White House.
"The plan will also enable 3M to continue sending U.S.-produced respirators to Canada and Latin America, where 3M is the primary source of supply."
During his briefing, Trump declared that his spat with the company was at an end and sang the praises of Mike Roman, the company's chief executive, as he announced that 3M would be producing 166.5 million masks for overtaxed and under-supplied health care professionals across the U.S.
He didn't mention, however, that those N95 masks would be coming from the company's manufacturing facilities in China, which is how 3M said it will meet at least some of the ever-increasing American demand while still filling orders both north and south of the U.S.
"We share the same goals of providing much-needed respirators to Americans across the country and combating criminals who seek to take advantage of the current crisis," Roman said in a statement.
"These imports will supplement the 35 million N95 respirators we currently produce per month in the United States."

And there you have it, they are having trouble getting the masks out of China where most of their manufacturing is that lead to the lack of N95 masks?

For public to be truly be safe from a sneeze or cough, the PPE needed would be what WCB requires if you were to grind through a pipe that is insulated with asbestos.
