Nope. Went to my family doctor, he thought I dislocated it and sent me to emerg. They took an x-ray and confirmed it wasnt that and suspected a tear. They sent me to the surgeon working in the fracture clinic who said it was a tear and sent me for an MRI.
You had a CT, it's better for soft tissue.

Really , you must have had a work related accident or required emergency surgery.we pay a combined tax rate of over 50% of our income . Health care is the single largest item on each provinces budget . Americans even after paying health premiums have more after tax dollars . Most American workers have coverage through their employers and pay no premiums . For a start .
Our system has great emergency and trauma care , no doubt . Our doctors and nurses are first rate , no doubt . Our cancer care is great and we do much research into same . However due to wait times and other factors many don’t get diagnosed soon enough to take advantage of same treatment and find themselves in excellent palliative care .
$6600 a year per taxpayer for "free" healthcare.

Yeah, rich Canadians! Show up in the U.S. penniless and see what treatment you get!
Most rich Canadians are smart enough to buy travel insurance. Do you have a problem with people spending their own money on treatments they can’t get in an expeditious manner here ?

Never happen like that in B.C.

They get the quality of care they can afford , and we get quality care when they are good and ready to give it to us , and not a moment sooner . Try getting an appointment with a specialist that will open your eyes .

If you are in dire need of care (possibility of life or death) here, you get it right away here- I know I've been in the situation at least twice. I'm not talking about elective surgery like joint replacements.

Yet prisoners , first responders , politicians , professional atheletes , WCB cases and illegal immigrants all get specialized service before the general population .

Gov't. is held responsible for prisoners to a greater degree than the general pop.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

We all get the minimum unless insured but guess how much it costs each of us a year in taxes?

Canadian healthcare isn't free
But it's paid largely by Canadian tax dollars. While there isn't a designated "healthcare tax," the latest data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) in 2017 found that on average a Canadian spends $6,604 in taxes for healthcare coverage.Nov 22, 2019

How much does it cost street people and destitute seniors each year in taxes? It all works out basically on our ability to pay.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

It's really affecting the company I work for.

There are two shifts of a total of 110 people - one which is 6am to 2pm and one which is 2pm to 10pm. I'm on the 2pm to 10pm shift.

The company has decided to furlough two-thirds of its workforce, from 110 people to 41.

The government has said it will pay 80% of the wages of those who can't work because of all this. Those of my company who have been furloughed have been told the government might not be able to pay their wages for all the months they are being furloughed and that they might end up being made redundant when it's all over.

I'm one of the lucky 41 who haven't been furloughed, and now there is just one shift from 8am to 4pm starting Monday. I'm not happy with the sudden change of shift from what I'm used to and suddenly having to get up at around 6:30am each workday but at least I'm still guaranteed full wages every month and not worry about redundancy.

I've heard they are mainly keeping on those with excellent punctuality and attendance and the order pickers (of which I'm one) who regularly meet the daily picking target.

'I was at a hospital where there were a few corona virus patients and I shook hands with everybody' says Boris Johnson on March 3rd.
Well guess what?
He has it.

But he didn't shake hands with any patients, though, did he?

How easy it is to deliberately take things out of context.

The health care must be paid one way or another. The system in CDa is still better than in a lot of places. There are no free rides in life. The money has to come from somewhere. Me thinks you protest too much. ;-) Is self isolating getting to you?? ;-) It will pass and most of us will survive.

Cancer outcomes are the same in Canada at roughly half the cost.

UK becomes biggest donor in race to find coronavirus vaccine

The UK is now the biggest donor toward finding a coronavirus vaccine, after Boris Johnson pledged a further £210m in a call between G20 leaders today.

Johnson also announced £40m of funding for developing affordable treatments, £23m on research for new testing devices, and £50m on a joint advertising campaign with Unilever to explain the importance of handwashing.

The UK’s total spent fighting coronavirus is now £544m, including a previously announced £71m for vaccine and treatment research.

The funding is going to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), who has said it requires $2bn additional funding from international governments to develop a Covid-19 vaccine.

The Prime Minister urged the other G20 leaders to contribute more funding toward finding a vaccine in today’s video call.

In a statement, Johnson said: “While our brilliant doctors and nurses fight coronavirus at home, this record British funding will help to find a vaccine for the entire world.

“UK medics and researchers are at the forefront of this pioneering work.

“My call to every G20 country and to governments around the world is to step up and help us defeat this virus.”

Are these changes temporary??
