Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Never said 'we' - meaning Canada - is special, pete. As a matter of fact our Federal government was behind the curve from the beginning dithering when they should have been acting. Now we are playing catch-up and no one knows what the outcome will be until the pandemic has been stopped in its tracks which could be a very long time from today.

It's beginning to look a bit hopeful, we've had two days in a row of fewer cases reported.

We know it spreads like wildfire and that it has been in Canada for several weeks. For every dead person there is 1500 who have been infected by that person.... that is according to HellCanada.

Does the math add up?

There's a few like that for sure, but that demographic is likely low risk to contract it in the first place. Most people's immune system might protect them. I'd be a little leery around Vancouver or the lower mainland but in an area like the Cariboo, where there is likely not even one confirmed case of it, I'd guess you can party all you like. I think Bonnie Henry is doing the right thing as she probably has no other choice to be sure of getting through to the lowest common denominator. You are probably safe to behave however you like at Canim Lake. :)

A few? Get a grip. You obviously have not been paying attention to the news casts showing hundreds and hundreds of stupid young people partying their blessed hearts out on the beaches in Florida sublimely ignorant of the danger. Low risk or not, they could be carriers and thereby spread the virus to their families.

We here in Eagle Creek and Canim Lake took the threat seriously, JLM considering that the vast majority of us are seniors. We have stopped visiting each other and when do have to go out for groceries or other supplies are doing are level best to self-distance from others. We are also phoning our friends daily to make sure they are well. Partying is the last thing on our minds considering how very heartless it would be in the face of what is happening to fellow citizens in BC and across the country.
