Well, I suppose although there is no real connection between the two, one is a thought while the other is an action!Pretty obvious how hoax and panic are different.

Well JLM, time will tell if the predictions come true - or not. Considering that hundreds of brain-dead millennials are busy partying their asses on during spring break ignoring all calls for social distancing, what you call fear mongering and BS is obviously not getting through to these idiots that think they are immune or haven't the brains to understand how dangerous the virus is, if not to themselves, then to any and all with whom they might come in contact. Are we not talking about two separate issues? What you say is absolutely true about the situation here and now. What I was referring to was a prediction in California in the future where 60% of the population was going to get sick with a horrendous # of deaths. I suppose that if everything that could go wrong did go wrong it MIGHT eventually lead to that. To predict that IS fear mongering and bull shit.
Even in Italy whose demographics aren't comparable to California the infection rate up to now is only 0.065% which makes the predicted rate of 60% in California pretty much ludicrous.![]()
Not sure? Is calling Trumps comment dumb outside the boundaries? Are you swimming past the blue and white rope?
I don't think they planned the outbreak and they were pretty much "Johnny on the spot" getting a handle on it!More so than Trump. (Sorry Walter, sometimes you have to call a spade a spade)

Italy f-cked around too long because of politics. We've had a month to "flatten the curve". What makes us special that the same wont happen here?Well JLM, time will tell if the predictions come true - or not. Is it out of bounds?Just making sure you can self regulate.
That is complacency. All it takes is one carrier to stop for gas and lunch to infect an entire town...2 weeks ago. There's a few like that for sure, but that demographic is likely low risk to contract it in the first place. Most people's immune system might protect them. I'd be a little leery around Vancouver or the lower mainland but in an area like the Cariboo, where there is likely not even one confirmed case of it, I'd guess you can party all you like. I think Bonnie Henry is doing the right thing as she probably has no other choice to be sure of getting through to the lowest common denominator. You are probably safe to behave however you like at Canim Lake.![]()
I haven't said they 'planned the outbreak' JLM. What they did do was lie about it and your 'Johnny on the spot' is pure unadulterated garbage. They knew back in December if not November about the outbreak and now finally they appear to have a handle on it as no new cases have been reported - almost four months later.
"Responsibility is exactly what the Chinese Communist Party government has been avoiding since the initial outbreak in Wuhan. Most notably, Dr. Li Wenliang raised concerns about the virus in December and was in turn detained by Chinese authorities and forced to sign a confession of making “false comments” and disturbing “the social order.” The virus would eventually take his life in February."

We know it spreads like wildfire and that it has been in Canada for several weeks. For every dead person there is 1500 who have been infected by that person.... that is according to HellCanada. That is very true just as in other aspects of our lives. You can only really worry about the stuff you know about OR you can drive yourself totally insane worrying about a million remote possibilities of stuff you don't know about.![]()
Never said 'we' - meaning Canada - are special, pete. As a matter of fact our Federal government was behind the curve from the beginning dithering when they should have been acting. Now we are playing catch-up and no one knows what the outcome will be until the pandemic has been stopped in its tracks which could be a very long time from today.Italy f-cked around too long because of politics. We've had a month to "flatten the curve". What makes us special that the same wont happen here?
