Ex-WH chief of staff Kelly says he believes Bolton's account of Ukraine allegation

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/28/politics/john-kelly-believes-john-bolton/index.html

"If John Bolton says that in the book I believe John Bolton," Kelly said Monday night when asked about the leaked draft manuscript during remarks at the Ringling College Library Association Town Hall lecture series, according to the Herald Tribune of Sarasota, Florida.

Kelly said Bolton "always gave the president the unvarnished truth" and is a "man of integrity and great character."

"I mean, half of Americans think this process is purely political and shouldn't be happening, but since it is happening, the majority of Americans would like to hear the whole story," Kelly said.

Not just my opinion. The evidence proves it, but he hasn't been charged yet.
Gawd you Trumplicans are obtuse. lmao

Well, if he hasn't been charged yet, then legally he hasn't done anything. There IS an old unwritten law which states "Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law by his peers"!

Oh OK, I see, carry on guilty until proven innocent sounds like a fair system

o_O

TM, he's guilty because it's being proven he's guilty.

The House did an investigation. There was enough evidence to Impeach then send it to the Senate for trial. If guilty he'll be removed, if innocent in the Senate, he stays put. If the WH or Trump had other facts to counter what the various committees were told, why didn't they make them available?

Oh right, because the WH refused to allow it, telling their people to not follow on their subpoenas.

That Trump can't prove his innocence is his own fault.

I also agree with Trump and the GOP that it should have been done in the house and the transcripts delivered with the articles of impeachment, then if necessary brought in to testify to his transcript for clarity if needed.

Let's not forget it is a manifest for a book, not like it is a diary or memo
They tried......but they were OBSTRUCTED by the very people that are claiming this now. They are playing both ends against the middle. And they look like fools. If they don't agree with having at least Bolton speak.......one cannot consider this a fair trial......and they know t6his. It is time to stop blaming the Dems and time to blame the ones responsible. Trump and his cronies........who are still trying to conceal and cover up.......and OBSTRUCT. The rep senate is obstructing its own claims of justice. The Dems did a good job with what they had ....and remained professional The Rep started off on the wrong foot by claiming that they would / could not be impartial.

If Trump was innocent he would testify and let everyone else testify.

Refuses to testify - complains he can't defend himself

A Monstrous Fraud Was Perpetrated on the Senate, and John Roberts Had to Know It
WASHINGTON—I am glad I am leaving this place on Tuesday and heading to Iowa, where some decent people are contending to head a government and a political system so corrupted and debased at this point that the ship of state most closely resembles that homeless wandering garbage barge from 1987. The last thing I saw was Republican Senators John Barrasso and Mike Braun, red-faced and hollering, because some reporters wanted to know precisely how much of the bullshit slung by the White House lawyers on Monday afternoon anyone should believe.
Make no mistake about it. From about 4 o’clock, the time former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi rose to speak, until about 6, when a longtime lawyer for El Caudillo del Mar-a-Lago named Eric Herschmann wrapped up what amounted to some MAGA rally cosplay, a monstrously obvious fraud was perpetrated on the Senate, sitting as a court of impeachment. If any lawyer in any municipal court in the country had lied and misrepresented the facts of a case involving a speeding ticket as thoroughly as Bondi and Herschmann did here, that lawyer’s license would have been pulled by lunchtime. However, Chief Justice John Roberts, perhaps exhausted by the effort it took to extend the work of Breckinridge Long into the 21st century on Monday morning, sat there like one of the marble vice presidents in the niches of the visitor’s galleries above. A fraud was perpetrated on the court over which Roberts was presiding, and he had to know it.
