We were adding Pipeline infrastructure to keep up to demand until about 10 years ago mostly going South which is why you never heard of it. Now that we are kneecapped by snowflakes and fake crises we need to find ways of increasing capacity without adding new Pipelines. We in the industry have been critical of Engineers for years of putting hard and soft 90 degree bends in pipelines for years telling them that it will restrict flow. I guess they are waking up to the fact if we straighten out pipelines we maybe able to flow more product. Also at the pump stations they have a habit of choking the discharge lines from the pumps to control surges they will be taking the chokes out to increase volume from the pump head. They are also looking at designated LNG lines with low volume to change them to batch lines so the can run crude through them.
Does any of this help you Hoid? Probably not you will come back with some other stupid question like why didn't they do that from the start. And I'll answer it with they didn't have to because it is cheaper to run a new pipeline.

Shoving more products through the pipe does no good when it comes to maintenance time. That is why more pipes are needed.threre would be reduced flow with one down but threre would still be flow.

Canada Revenue Agency reports 14% of Canadians never heard of carbon tax rebates despite heavy promotion by the federal government prior to last month’s election.
(This sort of result suits LIE-berals just fine since those who have not heard of the rebate are not politically aware or well informed anyway!! Keep them dumb and ill informed and they wont ask POINTED QUESTIONS that risk embarrassing LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
This according to an in-house report done by CRA, according to Blacklock’s Reporter, in which taxpayers in five provinces were asked: “Have you heard anything lately about the Climate Action Incentive Payment?
Another 45% said they had heard of it but didn’t know any details.
(The truth is THERE ARE NO REAL DETAILS to be had!! LIE-berals grandly offered a rebate apparently IS NOT ACTUALLY ACCESSIBLE!! There IS A LINE in the 2018 tax form to CLAIM that rebate but there IS NO LINE to indicate IF YOU are entitled to get anything at all from it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Since so many people have others do their taxes for them - LIE-berals are comforted by the notion that people will be happily BLIND to reality!! The rebates were supposed to compensate for out-of-pocket expenses incurred from higher fuel charges by those living in various cities in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick.
(But of course those fuel charges DO NOT relate to the higher cost of food and clothing that are all driven by carbon tax SCAMS!! NOR DOES the here and gone rebate cover the EXTRA SALES TAX on everything whose price has been driven up by the new fuel taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Holy phuck man how many times does it have to be explained to you? Where the phuck do you work so we can poke holes in your industry? They are going to modify the facilities and reapply for permits to a higher safe working pressure restriction to push more product, can't you understand that? We haven't before because we were able to run new Pipelines and stay within the lower pressure restrictions presently agreed to. What this will mean is more small provincial pipelines will be installed to central locations due to the lack of Big Pipelines to service individual customers.
Taxslave makes a valid point as well enough infrastructure is required so contracts are filled even if a line is shut down for maintenance.
