Lost in all the whining is the simple fact that Alberta has a pipeline through BC and has been pumping oil through it for decades now.

But that is not not enough.

Alberta wants more than that.

That pipeline is over 60 years old and in need of replacement which is what this whole thing is about! But hey, ifn you want leaks, have at 'er!

I think that is exactly what they want. Then they can point at it and say" See pipelines pollute". Fits with the leftard mentality.

Alberta has the lowest royalty rates in the world so all the money the pipeline made went to other people rather than 'Albertans' you racist fuk.

Soooo. You want Canada to go solar do ya? Guess who holds all tbe cards?

Average Energy Production: 1131 kWh/kW/yr

Variation Due To: Weather, Latitude

Best Province: Saskatchewan

Worst Province: Yukon Territory

*Methods: Solar irradiation was calculated using the “municip_kWh” spreadsheet from the photovoltaic potential and insolation dataset from Natural Resources Canada. Average annual irradiation where the installation angle equals degrees latitude -15 from the top five populated cities from each province was used. A 25% efficiency loss factor was then applied before getting the final kWh/kW/yr number.

Easy money from the best solar production potential on the globe. Some of the best wind, hydro and geothermal on the globe as well.

I hope the kids are ready to pay 50 cents a kWh.

Nah, I doubt we'll separate - we're land-locked so what purpose would it serve. We'll just become a have not province like Quebec and some of the Maritimes with the expectation that other provinces (like BC) will support us like we them in the past. (wishful thinking on my part don't 'cha know :))

Join the USA..

Cheaper taxes (fuel, food) , access to cheaper goods, better gun laws, and access to US markets without duties and more taxes.

Oh, eh.. EH oh!!

I agree, things will likely settle down in a couple of weeks, with the exception of a minority of die hards.

Hehehehe, you jump on the short bus back to Ontario when Alberta joins the USA

It's ironic isn't it that the guy who likes to "mock idiots" is himself a far bigger idiot than anyone he has ever mocked. It just doesn't get any stupider than that. :)

And pay an arm and a leg for medical insurance every month, fear walking alone at night, etc. No, thanks.
I have no problems with Canadian gun laws, pay about $125 a month for fuel, spend maybe $40/mo at grocery stores, spend $75 a month for health insurance for the two of us, am not impressed with US markets, don't pay duties, etc. And you pay quite a bit more subsidizing companies that don't need subsidies in the States and Canada commands a bit better respect from other countries. I could go on, but I think I've said enough for now..

It's been several years now (over a decade) since I've had anything to do with U.S. but at that time prices were quite a bit lower for most things. Americans were also quite generous. We could eat in restaurants for about half of what we paid here.

... in a hungry world.

Food regulation sucks, especially since Trump decimated the FDA, there are generous Canadians, too, healthcare insurance for my cousins in WA costs almost $10K per year and for hubby and I it costs a bit over $900, etctera.
We'll stay in Canada thanks.
