Nothing will energize the deplorable base like firing some teachers.

That's the sort of action they need.

Are they ?

Yeah riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! The Putz is talking through his hat as usual because he doesn't have the brains to know the right answers. When we went to school we didn't have calculators and computers, we did shit the hard way like long division and calculating square roots. We had to read books to find answers, but the Putz he doesn't read too good as is obvious from his obviously hare-brained observations. By pass the Putz for any knowledge about anything!

Well watching young people walking around downtown traffic with their smart gadget stuck in the face shows me how smart they are . Being driven to school everyday didn’t supply them with the self preservation bug most of us codgers developed . They apparently were never taught to look both ways before crossing the road .

I am guessing the two of you like to keep the young people off your lawns.

Ontario High Schoolers Plan Mass Walkout To Protest Ford Government’s Education Cuts

The Ontario government is increasing class sizes and making students take some courses online.

TORONTO — Thousands of high school students are expected to walk out of class Thursday to protest the Ontario government's changes to the public education system.
"The students say no," organizer Frank Hong said at a press conference at Queen's Park on Wednesday.
Hong said he expects between 100,000 and 200,000 students to participate at the more than 600 schools registered for the event. Students will head to short rallies held on school grounds and then return to class later in the day.
"Adults tend to stereotype students as lazy or ignorant of current events, but I can assure you that over the past two weeks, I've never seen a demographic of a population so engaged and motivated to fight for their right to well-funded, fair and equitable education."

The playbook is pretty slim.

Righties cut government services to produce a false balance and the lefties inherit the mess and try to fix it and the righties get back in because of all the leftie spending,

This is BC politics as well.

Ontario's education system used to be a jewel.

In fact the now gone Progressive Conservative party was one of it's biggest champions and they elected people like Bill Davis because he had such a commitment to education.

Then came the computer and Mike Harris and suddenly the righties are what we know them as today.

Maybe the Education system is inefficient and dysfunctional to start with. Probably a good idea to layoff the dead wood and rebuilt the system from the ground up. I know in B.C. it's been a joke ever since they took the strap out of the schools. Now the kids just tell the teacher to fcuk off when they are told to do something.

Oh now..........................

Ford IS on the right track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trying to deal in a sensible way with the insane LIE-beral $16 billion dollar deficit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you think Ford has enough power and influence to cut dead wood and dysfunctional crap over the protests of Soviet Socialist school trustees and civil service union Hogs then you are DREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The latest buzz is that Ford changes to education will result in 3000 teachers being laid off........................................

and of course that is a FILTHY HOG LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toronto Star has told us that in an average year- 5000 teachers are replaced - due to them retiring or quitting or falling ill etc..............

so FORD SPEAKS TRULY when he states the system can handle his changes EASILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ford has stated that NO TEACHERS will be fired or laid off and that the 3000 that leave will be the result of VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OF course school trustees want to create public hysteria in order to curry favour with the Hogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trustees gave up managing school budgets long ago and now trustees ONLY RUBBER STAMP whatever crap unions ORDER them to accept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AS for the kids protesting education cuts......................................

and Ford`s assertions that the kids are merely PAWNS of Hog union leaders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One way to PROVE that Forc is right would be to find out how many of the protestors ARE related TO Hogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The HOG unions ar gearing up for a GRAND BATTLE against Ford in teacher contract negotiations next fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And they are gearing up for the election BATTLE in October that will decide the fate of Our idiot Boy and his loser LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!

Engineers have always been that way. Comparing apples to apples, a 30 year old engineer is infinitely smarter than one from 40 years ago
Probably. They used to overbuild things 40 years ago ,(myself included) but time, experience and competition has taught (some of us) how to be more efficient. CAD has improved Engineering immensely.

Ontario minister admits Ford government broke election promise by scrapping basic income project

An Ontario minister admits the new government has backtracked on a campaign promise to keep the province's basic income pilot project in place.

Social Services Minister Lisa MacLeod blamed the "realities" the Progressive Conservatives faced, upon coming into power last month, for the decision she announced on Tuesday.

"[There's] the decision in the campaign and then you find the realities of when you're in government," MacLeod told reporters on Wednesday, restating her intent to "come up with a better plan in 100 days."

It marks the first broken promise of Premier Doug Ford's government.

"My commitment to the people of Ontario, particularly the people who are most vulnerable, is that we will get it right," MacLeod said.

"I, in good conscience, could not proceed on the patchwork of systems that the Liberals had in place."

Ford did the right thing. The program wasn't working.

Naturally he is being damned for it.
