Be careful of "Donald" Scheer, is his far right ideologies and the 30+ (so far) radical candidates. Please don't vote for him because you don't like Trudeau; it's like going from the pot into the fire.

Canada's probable next PM is courting the far right to win

Like Trump, Andrew Scheer is looking to the far right to help him win a tight race.

It is said that you can take the measure of a man by the company he keeps.
By that objective calculus, the toxic company that Canada's Conservative leader, Andrew Scheer, stubbornly keeps ought to disabuse anyone of the silly notion that Canada is an antidote to the pestilence of white nationalism infecting other, Western "liberal" democracies.
Scheer has a long history of courting white nationalists by appealing unabashedly and overtly to their ugly, nativist, xenophobic and racist temperaments (to describe them as "ideas" is antithetical to the word).

Jody Wilson - Raybould is the best and probably the ONLY sensible candidate for next Prime Minister.

Get rid of the party system, vote Green or NDP or Rhinoceros Party, anybody than these to sell outs who do not represent people, only corporations. Trudeau promised to get rid of the first past the post system but anybody who thought he would should have their head examined. The right wing Cons under Scheer will not change anything except maybe, make us more like Trumpville.

So those are organizations not parties? Wouldn't voting for them be the same as voting for a specific party to get the other out? I would like to see an independent leader vote similar to the States, get rid of the no confidence vote, giving the candidates a chance to vote for their constituents not for their party. Also with this a bi partisan cabinet, best ministers chosen for cabinet no matter party alliance.

All MPs should be independents, all laws past by consensus, Prime minister elected by parliament or on a separate ballot, no lobbyists, no corporate election donations.

Not seeing a problem with this. But then I believe people should have real jobs.

Ironically "First past the post" is the best system as should have been adequately proven by now. Our boy is possibly a bit slow on the uptake! :)

NDPee is owned by government unions. Greens lack enough brain cells to make a quarm.
I have voted for both Rhinoceros and Pirate parties at different times because both the libs and cons had dipshits running in my area.

Of what party, JLM? She's nothing but a lowly back-bencher sitting as an independent. Apparently the NDP have made overtures to her regarding joining their gang but any chance at a leadership there will not happen until at least the next election. Same goes for the Greens if she decided to join them. Lizzie May is not about to abdicate her position for anyone least of all one with the type of baggage this one will bring with her.

I have to disagree . Party solidarity or not , being part of or condoning criminal activity should never be passed off as the norm .

I'll agree with you when or if any criminal charges are brought forward and then proven in court, pgs.

If Trudeau et al thought that Wilson-Raybould would have accepted the posting to Indian Affairs, they wouldn't have offered it to her in the first place in my opinion. I believe the foreknowledge that she wouldn't/couldn't accept the post was the motivating factor in even considering that offer as ammo in gaslighting her reputation. I would venture to guess that the Justinites knew Wilson-Raybould would refuse that posting before barely winning the last election.

I would venture to speculate that had one of Trudeau's advisors even skimmed through a Wiki on JW-R even when High could have predicted (assuming they didn't know already) that she wouldn't/couldn't accept that post if she had any ethics at all, which was the issue behind involving her in the cabinet shuffle in the first place.

Well Ron, she now has zero chance of effecting any change at all. I would have thought that working from within she really could have worked to rid Canada of the Indian Act which the majority of Canadians see as a roadblock to natives actually owing their own property - to begin with.

Mind you, she did her best to sneak in a piece of legislation regarding natives and the courts which included the acceptance of 'oral testimony'. It has thankfully yet to be passed and is doubtful to be made law before the liberals are tossed from office - and the new AG can get rid of it with the stroke of a pen.

Robert Borden was prime Minister during WWI.....

I remember my Dad, a young man at the time telling me how he, the Prime minister was smuggled out to the States,.... I forget now how they did it...
But he came back when the US entered the war

Addendum:Maybe Mackenzie King went with him

Prime minister Borden Borden smuggled out to United States to hide out during WW!??????????????????????

Apparently your Dad was a NOTED writer of German Propaganda??????????????????????

What the hell would they smuggle Borden ANYPLACE FOR??????????????????????

German U-boats certainly prowled the mouth of St Lawrence River in WW1 but they never could come up river to Ottawa as the water isnt deep enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And during WW2 Mackenzie King travelled to Britain at least once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a PUBLISHED ACCOUNT of how King came to a Cdn army base and wanted to "review the troops"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cdn politicians found it exasperating that the Cdn army was basically out of their control - being over seas-

and thus out of their political influence!!!!!!!

It was especially GALLING for LIE-beral King........................................

since the Cdn military was NOTORIOUSLY ANTI LIE-beral!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some things NEVER CHANGE do they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But KIng was hoping to pick up a few votes anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In spite of King having met with Hitler one on one in Munich and then coming back to Canada to tell our parliament "that Hitler is a dour but basically good man who is bringing some much needed hope and discipline to the German people"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King went on to INSIST that there was no need for Canada to re-arm because Hitler was NOT A BAD GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the Cdn military KNEW EXACTLY WHO TO BLAME for their lousy and antiquated equipment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Senior Cdn officers were so worried about letting King show himself to the troops that they arranged a "drive by review"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The short dumpy King up on a podium surrounded BY TALL OFFICERS..................................................

with orders to do their best to discreetly HIDE King from the view of he soldiers.............................

passing RAPIDLY Past the podium in hope they would not see King and cause trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Senior officers were quite worried that somebody might take a pot shot at King in the aftermath of the disastrous Dieppe raid!!!!!!!!!!!

Best thing to do with LIE-berals is keep them AWAY from any military or national security issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we are long past the day when Parties have much meaning. Any one of them are quite happy to do whatever it takes be get elected. I think Cliffy may be on to something there. One of the problems we have is people voting for the leader solely because he/she is the leader. Anyway they are all moot points as long a Little Potato is at the helm.

They are doing a great job of staying away from providing anything in the way of meaningful funding for the military or our Vets all by themselves, STB - no need for us to interfere. And let's not forget what a thorough mess they made, and are possibly facing criminal charges for their involvement, in trying to provide our navy with decent ships.

We are nowhere NEAR past the day when political parties lack meaning, JLM and until that day comes it is what it is and the best we can do as voters is to educate ourselves regarding the best choice for our local MP and vote accordingly.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one, for one thing (probably the main thing) what they 'plan' to do before you vote for them and what they do after can be two entirely different things. The only plans you can count on is get elected, stay elected and collect that pension!
