No way he can talk himself out of this unless he tries to blame it all on Wernick. We'll see if his goose is cooked or not when his personal polling numbers start dropping like a stone - so far he's still ahead of Andrew. Wilson-Raybould's is done though. I expect that we will soon be hearing that she is kicked out of caucus as I cannot imagine her fellow MPs will take kindly to this latest revelation. Fair or not, she is causing nothing but dissension in the caucus and in the party and there is no way they can put up with her any longer.
I'd have to agree to disagree on that score. Having said that she may have reached the point with him where she doesn't really care and who could blame her? It just boils down to the fact he wanted her to be unethical and she stuck to her guns. Good for her! I was quite disappointed when Ms. Freeland sided with Trudeau. I thought she was stronger than that.
Not that I give two hoots about Trudeau, but I think her recording a phone call without a search warrant is illegal. A cop needs a search warrant, why wouldn't an Attorney General? In fact we all need consent from the other party to record personal conversations.
Was she still Atty. General when she did the recording?
Regardless, to quote the old adage, it was probably a matter of "Needs must when the Devil drives".

Too bad. My present MP is a member of the Liberal Caucus. I didn't vote for her, but she's doing a good job it seems. She might be wise to run as an independent in the next election though if she wants to have a chance of winning her set back. I'd consider voting her her depending on who was running against her, especially if she left the party.
Nope, you don't. If it's just the two of you then you are free to record the conversation to your heart's content. A third party recording the conversation, even under your knowledge or direction would not be permissible without consent.
