He staged the whole thing. Furthermore, he is under investigation by the FBI for sending himself the threatening letter with the unknown powder.
Apparently the Alt-Left demand for hate crimes is so high that they need to do them themselves.
The Powder in the 'Maga' letter to Smollet was powdered aspirin.
Smollet was being written out of his role on Empire and apparently this was all a career move. The whole thing reeked of deception and ideological skulduggery from the start.
I haven't heard anything from all those who expressed outrage at the initial allegation. Apparently criticizing a black, 'gay' man is beyond the parameters of modern liberal culture; even when he's a patent fraud.
