How come Venezuela only accepts aid from Communist countries?
I ran across this article this morning and was surprised that there was no mention of Joos or US intervention in it since the discovery of Oil in 1914.
How Venezuela fell from riches to a country in crisis
Since the 50-50 deal that made Venezuela one of the richest nations in the world Greed, corruption, and socialism took them down.
Venezuela is a go between for China and Cuba to get past embargoes.

The Venezuela coup attempt is not going well at all and Washington's global allies may soon regret rushing to recognise Juan Guaido as the legitimate interim president of Venezuela, French journalist and geopolitical analyst Gilbert Mercier told Sputnik.

Make no mistake, the so called Venezuela crisis has been engineered through economic sanctions and plotted in Washington for many years, Gilbert Mercier, a French journalist, geopolitical analyst, and editor-in-chief of the News Junkie Post, told Sputnik.
He recalled that Washington's 2002 coup attempt plotted by Elliott Abrams, Donald Trump's current Venezuela special envoy, failed in Venezuela.
"I cannot foresee that the US imperial push against Maduro will be successful either as long as Venezuela's military remains loyal to him, and as long as Maduro consolidate both his regional and global support," the journalist said, adding that the Venezuelan legitimate head of state "should emulate the survival tactics of the Cuban revolution through striking the right alliances, and numerous improvements of his economic management of Venezuela's socialist society".
He remarked that "after all the Castros, first Fidel than Raul, defied US imperialism for six decades".
"In what must be called, as I did some time ago, a new Cold War, Venezuela is the major geopolitical test of our times. It might be even more critical than Syria, because this time around it is a conflict between imperial capitalism and a socialist state," Mercier opined.
World Divided Into Pro-Maduro and Pro-Guaido Camps
"So far the US sponsored coup to replace legitimately elected Nicolas Maduro by Washington groomed Juan Guaido has not progressed as planned," the geopolitical analyst pointed out. "As matter of fact, as we stand, it is a fiasco, and US vassals in Europe and the Americas could soon regret their premature enthusiasm to embrace Washington's regime change policy".

Venezuela's Guaido to Leave for Colombia as Aid Standoff Hardens

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido made plans to head for the border with Colombia to personally bring in US-supplied food and medicine in defiance of the military-backed government, raising fears of possible weekend confrontations.
Guaido, who has set a Saturday deadline for bringing in the aid, planned to depart at 6:00 am Thursday in a caravan of buses with members of the opposition-controlled National Assembly, forcing a high-stakes showdown with President Nicolas Maduro.
On Maduro's orders, the military has beefed up border security and barricaded a major border bridge to prevent the supplies from entering the country from Cucuta, Colombia, where tons of supplies are stockpiled.
Although it was unclear exactly what Guaido intends to do, he says he has enlisted hundreds of thousands of volunteers in recent days to help bring in and distribute the aid.
On Wednesday, he rallied bus drivers to go to the borders to collect aid for Venezuelans suffering shortages.
"Even though they point guns at us -- and all of us have received threats, rubber bullets and even live ones -- we are not afraid," Guaido said, standing on the back of a truck in a throng of supporters.
"We will stay out in the street with our chests bared, demanding freedom for all of Venezuela."
Shipments of food and medicine for the crisis-stricken population have become a key focus of the power struggle between Maduro and Guaido.

Unseen footage: Snipers fire at Maidan protesters during Kiev riots

https://sputniknews.com/latam/201812041070363413-venezuela-russia-maduro-putin-meeting/
MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced Tuesday he was leaving for Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"At this moment we are leaving for Russia to strengthen and expand our diplomatic relations and friendly ties between the brotherly nations," Maduro tweeted. According to the Venezuelan president, he was planning to hold "a very intense and very important meeting" with Putin later on Tuesday.
Maduro visited Russia last year, when he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the bilateral cooperation as well as key issues of the international and regional agenda and took part in the Russian Energy Week 2017 forum.
Russia has been supporting Venezuela’s sovereignty and maintaining that the country should develop without external interference. Officials from both countries have been holding bilateral meetings on various levels to strengthen their ties.
Venezuela has for years been suffering from an acute economic crisis and galloping inflation caused by shrinking oil prices.

Guaido has vowed the opposition will bring in foreign aid from neighboring countries on Saturday and called on security forces to disobey Maduro and let supplies into the country suffering food and medicine shortages.
Guaido has been recognized as legitimate interim president by dozens of nations over the past month including the United States, arguing that Maduro's re-election was fraudulent.
